(fuuuu- sorry this is so late D:)
Simón blinked, startled by Kalahar's vicious reaction to his assistance. He was about to make some remark about what exactly he was doing when she swatted at him. With her claws unsheathed. He took the brunt of the swipe straight on the nose and stumbled back a few pawsteps. Oh, so this is what he got for being helpful and caring? Well, if this was how Kalahar was going to react, maybe he shouldn't have bothered to cross his yard just to check on her and make sure she was okay. He didn't have to, anyway.
However, the bat of Kalahar's paw combined with her shoulder injury sent her off-balance and her momentum sent her stumbling right into Simón. He automatically caught her and allowed her to prop herself up against him, though he was still half-considering just dumping her on the ground and stalking away back to his porch. He immediately decided against that, though, because her voice softened and she seemed almost...vulnerable when she spoke next. "Why are you so worried about me?"
Why was he so worried about her? Usually they didn't get along. But all Simón's could think of was the fact that she was surprised that he'd come to the rescue. I mean, it seemed like a normal thing for him to do. It was Kalahar. She was hurt. Of course he'd come make sure she was okay. Why was that so surprising? Did she expect him to just sit on the porch and watch her topple off the top of the fence? Watch her bleed from a distance?
He was about to comment on this when Kalahar went and ruined it. "Nice to see cats have to nearly get gnawed on by dogs for you to care."
Simón bristled. She thought he didn't care? Why would she assume that she had to be in a dangerous situation for him to worry about her? What did she know about it?
"You do not know anything about it," he growled, his blue-gray fur fluffed up around the shoulders. "You have no reason to talk." It wasn't like she'd ever cared for him, anyway. Why should he bother if it wasn't mutual?
The handsome kittypet resisted the urge to step aside and let her fall to the ground, instead choosing to lead her over to the porch and prop her up against the steps before turning away, ears flattened in anger. If this was how she was going to react, he should have just stayed up on the porch.
