Harewhisker- Brother
Heathertail- Sister
Description: The most noticeable difference Dustfur has from his siblings is his gray pelt, which is unlike Harewhisker's and Heathertail's brown fur. But aside from this, there are several other traits separating him from the other two. Dustfur is in fact the largest of the litter. His larger size became more prominent as he grew older until he looked bulky compaired to his smaller brother and sister. Strong muscles lay beneath his pelt, adding to his large appearance. Unfortunately, it is because of his large size that he has a disadvantage when hunting, making him one of the poorer hunters in the Clan. The gray coat is a mostly solid color, with a few tabby stripes on his face and neck. Dustfur's eyes are light, pale green, another trait differentiating him from his littermates.
Personality: Dustfur is a mild cat, and easy to get along with because he doesn't talk all that much. He is social, yet stays closer to the background of a conversation at the same time. He isn't very confident in his skills, being the largest and least gifted of his littermates. And unlike Harewhisker, he'd rather be a follower than a leader. Preferring to be non-aggressive, he can get angry but tries to stay out of fights that don't involve the battlefield. Due to his nature, he is reliable if one every just needs someone to talk to, and is more patient than his brother. He is a quiet cat, but can open up and be very kind to anyone who can get past his initial shyness and wariness. He has a good heart and follows orders without question. But it is because of his lack of confidence and leadership skills that he believes he wouldn't make a good mentor.
History: The three kits were born near the end of Newleaf; Harekit was born first, Dustkit second, and Heatherkit, the only she-kit in the litter, was born last. As they grew old enough to leave the nursery, they spend most of their time outside playing and enjoying the nice weather of Greenleaf. They knew who their father was, but the strong, respected warrior was usually too busy dealing with Clan issues to spend time with them. The kits didn't particularly mind though, because they had each other. Their mother was laid back and let them do whatever they wanted as long as they stayed in camp.
When the time finally came for their apprentice ceremony, they were just as excited as one would expect the young cats to be. Dustpaw's mentor was a less-than-pleasant tom who was a first-time mentor. His mentor started training with him right away, but they didn't have the normal mentor-apprentice relationship. The mentor expected nothing but the very best out of Dustpaw, and when Dustpaw made a mistake, the apprentice became even more stressed. Dustpaw always had to push himself to be as good as his siblings, and one day it all became too much. One day during battle practice, Dustpaw got carried away and ended up unsheathing his claws; leaving a rather deep slash along his mentor's side. He was immediately taken to the medicine cat, and after truthfully explaining that it was just a mistake, Dustpaw was allowed to continue his training normally. He was even more distant from his mentor then, and tried harder to control his actions.
When it was time for his and his littermates' warrior ceremony, he was named second, and given the name Dustfur. He still isn't sure how he feels about his name; it is a warrior name but he thinks of it as sort of plain. Dustfur has put his not-so-pleasant apprenticeship behind him and has become a strong, loyal warrior. He is rather unmotivated because he doesn't have any goals, but he is content the way things are.
