p e r s o n a l i t y .Average Size . Sleek . Dark Brown and Black . Silky Fur . Yellow Eyes
Batheart is an average sized cat of average build. His limbs aren't long or short, overly-muscled or too skinny. His face is angular, but not bony. His ears are large and pointy, but then, aren't most cats'? His frame isn't thin, nor is it bulky. Batheart maintains the sleek, slender body of any active warrior, with mid-sized paws and a plumed tail of average length. He has yellow eyes. Not golden, not amber, not fiery, or sun-coloured; yellow. His fur blends in well in the shadows of ShadowClan's territory. It's very dark, somewhere in between brown and black. Throughout most of his pelt you'd think his fur is dark, muddy brown, but his head and shoulders tend more towards black. His fur is a bit long, but it's rather thin and limp, so it doesn't give him too much trouble in the summer or when it's wet. The real problem is grooming it, because it tends to tangle very quickly. On the rare occasion that his fur is properly groomed, it lies glossily flat and shines wonderfully. Then he ventures out to hunt or engages in a tussle with another warrior, and it's completely ruined once again.
h i s t o r y .Resourceful . Practical . Vigilant . Easygoing . Charming . Loyal . Determined
Batheart is a resourceful cat. He'd probably fit just as well into loner life as he does in a Clan. In fact, he'd probably do well just about anywhere. He's practical; he sees things the way they are instead of thinking about what they could be or might have been. He's not a pessimist, probably because he doesn't dwell too much on things he can't control, but he does make sure that he's prepared for the worst, even if he doesn't necessarily expect it. He is a very watchful character; it doesn't pay to get sloppy. At the same time though, Batheart isn't distrustful. He knows better than to trust without reason, but he isn't the type to hesitate to open his heart to another just because things might go wrong. He's relatively polite to other cats, and isn't short-tempered, but his patience certainly isn't infinite either.
When it comes to she-cats, he's a bit of a flirt, and tends to charm any and all he comes near unless he's in a screeching battle. He finds it an amusing harmless game, as he's never fallen deeply in love with any of them and is still on good terms with most. Batheart's personality is rather easygoing, despite his constantly vigilant demeanour. If faced with trouble he's ready to spring into action yesterday, but until then there's no point stressing over the unknown. Once you get to know him well, he's loyal and trustworthy. He will never go back on his word, and shows no mercy to his enemies if someone who trusts him is in danger. Batheart is a very determined cat, so either he's going to get his revenge or he'll die trying. It simply isn't in his nature to give up on a task once he's started it, and since he's quite cunning as well, chances are likely that he will succeed.
Batheart's parents were a bit eccentric... one of them, without a doubt, still is. His mother is still very much alive, and still serving as a warrior, albeit an aging one. As for his father, he may be alive, or he may not be. Batheart's father was a loner, beholden to no-one, and a drifter by nature. It's really a miracle that he remained in the ShadowClan area long enough for Batheart to actually meet the tom; he left some time during his son's apprenticeship, without even saying goodbye. Buffo seemed to believe firmly that he had a great destiny placed ahead of him. But that's neither here nor there. The real story, the important one, is about Batheart, from the moment he was born until this very one that he lives right now.m o t h e r : Swoonswan
Batheart's mother, Swoonswan, had four kits. It was common knowledge that they were only half-Clan, but despite her irresponsible behaviour with her illicit loner mate, Swoonswan was a dedicated mother. Batkit and his three siblings experienced a two-faced world of love and guidance inside the nursery walls, and disapproving glares outside in camp. On top of that, all four kits had rather odd names. Alone, some of their names seemed unremarkable, but listed one after the other, it was rather a motley group. In order to survive the strange and often degrading way in which other cats treated him, Batkit had to learn to use what he had to the best of his ability. He became independent at a young age and became determined not to let the opinions of others affect his behaviour.
When he was apprenticed with his three siblings, Batpaw thought that perhaps the other cats would begin to respect him, but that was not the case. The ones who had taunted him as a kit still did so now that he was an apprentice; he squared his shoulders and lived through it anyway. Batpaw's mentor was kind enough not to mention her opinions to his face, but he could tell that she disapproved of his parentage. With his customary resilience, Batpaw took this too and ignored it. It didn't matter what others thought of him. He knew that he was a true Clan cat, no matter what some might say. When he was seven moons old, Swoonswan took him and his siblings into the forest to meet their father. It turned out to be an odd meeting, during which Buffo examined them as if he'd never seen kits before and then complimented them each on their inspired names. A month later, there wasn't any trace of his scent in the territory at all; Buffo had disappeared.
At the age of thirteen moons, Batpaw and his sister Twinklepaw were given their warrior names. One moon after that, Softpaw and Bittypaw were also made into warriors. None of them did anything brave or spectacular; there was simply nothing more that their mentors could teach them, and so they were made into warriors. For many moons afterward, all four kits (and Swoonswan) simply went about their lives as warriors and tried to become accepted despite Buffo's odd taint. In time, their history was (mostly) forgotten, and the small family of not-quite-right cats was accepted into ShadowClan. But they were never accepted fully—Swoonswan had made her choice, had betrayed her Clan by mating with Buffo, and none would fully forget it. And her children were just like her and her strange mate, everyone knew it. Eventually, something would undoubtedly happen to prove that the kits of Swoonswan and Buffo were indeed cursed, but for the time being they were alright.
Except that Buffo's line was not alright after all, and sooner or later someone was going to find out. For Batheart, the most flirtatious of their four offspring, had a great love of she-cats, and it would come to land him in a predicament. In the deep dark of the night, when even ShadowClan's warriors had retired to their nests, Batheart began meeting with a young RiverClan she-cat, crossing boundaries and breaking rules just for the chance to speak with her, and eventually to do more than just converse. After only a short time, Batheart and Robinwing were mated in secret, watched only by StarClan and the night insects. It was a dangerous game that he played, but not a frivolous one. Amorous he surely was, but even Batheart would not tempt such risk on a whim. It was the very worst of outcomes; a true joining between cats of different Clans, one that was as permanent as it was ill-fated. If his Clanmates ever found out, there would be no respite for either of them.
Perhaps he really was cursed.

Crush by David Archuleta
Why do I keep running from the truth?
All I ever think about is you
You got me hypnotized, so mesmerized
And I just got to know
Do you ever think when you're all alone
All that we can be, where this thing can go?
Am I crazy or falling in love?
Is it really just another crush?
Do you catch your breath when I look at you?
Are you holding back like the way I do?
'Cause I've tried and tried to walk away
But I know this crush ain't going away-ay-ay
Going away-ay-ay
