Description:
Shrewfang is a dark brown tabby she-cat, to put it in simple terms. The main color on her pelt is the light brown on her upper back and face. The rest of her back is a very dark brown, almost black in some areas. Her throat area is a white color, which is the only place on this cat that isn’t brown. Where she has the light brown on her upper back and face, there are also some deep brown tabby markings. Her back two paws have more black than brown on them and this is the only place black that can be found on her pelt. Shrewfang’s tail is short and very dark brown.
She has the same trait as her cousins, Ashstar and Frostwind. Her fur is long during leaf bare, and short during greenleaf. This trait was also shared by her father, and she thinks it’s a ThunderClan thing. Shrewfang shares the same color of the inside of her ears as Ashstar, a smokey gray. How a dark brown tabby received gray, she is still a bit confused about. Also like Ashstar, she is the spitting image of her father. The only exception in Shrewfang’s case is her eyes. Shrewfang has her mother, Siennafur’s, golden-yellow eyes.
Personality:
Shrewfang is a very independent cat, thinking that she can do things on her own. She likes things done her way, and has issues with those who try to do something another. She pretty much does what she wants, and what she thinks is right. She doesn’t rely on too many cats, since she is still a bit reluctant to trust others.
After finding out she was half-Clan, she had issues with those cats who called her ‘half-breed’. She feels that she is just like any other ShadowClan cat, and hopes that everyone will treat her that way. Just because her father is in ThunderClan, and her cousin is the leader, doesn’t mean that she wants to be a ThunderClan cat. She has proven her loyalty to the Clan time and time again, and any cat who questions her loyalty she will not even bother speaking to. Shrewfang would love to have someone to be able to trust fully, other than her kin in ThunderClan, or her mother.
She is a very brilliant hunter, quick and agile, thanks to her ThunderClan blood. She isn’t afraid to fight for what she believes in, and wouldn’t hesitate to stand up for any of her clanmates. She fights to prove that she belongs in the Clan, and fights for her own sake, to prove she needs to be accepted as a member of ShadowClan.
History:
Shrewfang was born a little over two years ago in the ShadowClan nursery. Her mother was a proud and strong ShadowClan warrior, however, her father was a ThunderClan warrior. She never knew who her father was or that she was half-Clan until she was three moons old. Her mother never spoke about her father, and naturally the kit grew curious seeing other kits with their fathers. But she didn’t question her mother, thinking it might upset her.
It was no secret her mother had been seeing a ThunderClan cat, or that she carried his kits. But it turned out there would be only one kit in the litter, a cat that resembled her father more than her mother would have liked. Shrewkit was almost the spitting image of her father, Sedgeclaw. There was no way Shrewkit's mother could get around it. Shrewkit really was Sedgeclaw’s daughter, only having Siennafur’s eyes.
Shrewkit grew up playing with other ShadowClan cats her age, until she reached her third moon. The little kit was playing with her best friend, Twigkit, outside the nursery. This had been both kits first time out of the nursery since they had been born, both having overprotective mothers. A couple warriors passed by, snickering and glancing at Shrewkit with humor in their eyes. Shrewkit, being the innocent kit she was, had no clue what was going on. Soon the warriors came over and began to make fun of the little kit, calling her names such as ‘half-breed’ or ‘tainted blood’. The kit only looked at them with curious eyes, she had been confused. When she questioned them about it, they just rolled their eyes and walked away, continuing to mutter names.
Shrewkit didn’t take much into it, and began playing with Twigkit again. When the kits were tired and the sun began to go down, meaning it was time for bed, Shrewkit curled up next to her mother and began to ask the question she had never asked before. The kit wanted to know who her father was, and why she was being called so many names.
And so it came the time for Siennafur to tell her daughter about her past. She began by telling Shrewkit how she met a tom named Sedgepaw at her first gathering. He was from ThunderClan, and he was not much older than herself. They became good friends, and when they patrolled borders and met each other along the way they would stop and say hello. They were instant friends. Several gatherings later Sedgepaw was Sedgeclaw, and the then Siennapaw was happy for her friend. By the next gathering, Siennapaw had become Siennafur, and so the two were warriors, finally.
They met one night at the border between ShadowClan and ThunderClan, and realized they had more in common they than thought possible. After that night, the two met regularly, at least once every other day. They didn’t think they were doing anything wrong, just by talking to one another. That is until Sedgeclaw asked Siennafur to be his mate. The she-cat couldn’t say no, and so the two met even more along the border. They tried as best as they could to keep this secret, but several cats found out before the two could explain.
They were forbidden to see each other, but by that time Siennafur found out she was expecting his kits. Nothing in her life had prepared her for this. She had been allowed to go out of camp only to tell him about the kits, and after that she was forbidden to see him. Siennafur then proceeded to tell her kit how she had not seen Sedgeclaw since that day.
And so the story begins of Shrewkit’s kithood after hearing the story. She now knew her father was a ThunderClan cat, and that she was half-Clan. The kit was a bit angry at her mother for keeping this from her, but after a couple days it sunk in and the kit wanted to meet her father. It took a lot of persuading, but a meeting of father and daughter was arranged when she was three and a half moons old.
Siennafur carried Shrewkit to the border with ThunderClan and there waiting was Sedgeclaw. His eyes shone bright as he saw his daughter. And it was then that Shrewkit bonded with her father. She was a little timid at first but after a while she really enjoyed his company. Shrewkit also found out that her uncle was the leader of ThunderClan, and that he had just recently had two kits, within the past half moon. So she really did have a family, just in another Clan. Since she was still young, she only saw her father once a week. It was just a long journey for her mother to carry her back and forth. But that one day, Shrewkit looked forward to.
At the age of four moons she was given a choice. She could either stay in ShadowClan with her mother, or move to ThunderClan with her father. ThunderClan was lacking cats, she-cats especially ,and her cousin Ashkit was the first in many moons. It was a hard decision for the kit. Stay in the Clan she grew up in, or go to the Clan where her father and rest of her family was. Shrewkit was given a moon to decide, and had huge debates in her head. Siennafur reassured her that whatever decision she made would be alright with her.
After a moon of thought, and hard contemplation, Shrewkit decided to stay in ShadowClan. This had been the Clan she had grown up in, the Clan she had friends in. Her decision was respected by her father, and the rest of her family. By the time her decision was made she was five moons. Shrewkit was seeing her father more and more, now that she was able to walk instead of being carried.
When she was apprenticed at six moons, Shrewpaw was able to see her father whenever she patrolled the borders. She would visit with him at gatherings, and a few moons after she was apprenticed, her cousins were apprenticed in ThunderClan. She grew close to Ashpaw and Frostpaw, never having seen them before. The three were good friends, despite them being in different clans. She especially admired her cousin, Ashpaw, despite her small size, she was clearly a formidable opponent.
Shrewpaw became Shrewfang, known for her fierceness and her brilliant hunting skills. She showed her loyalty to her Clan, time and time again. There was no doubt she is a true ShadowClan cat, despite the ThunderClan blood that runs through her veins.
Shrewfang hasn’t had much of a history, despite being a little over two years old. Nothing significant has happened in her warrior life, everything has been in her past.
