Bloom is a fair-sized tom. He's built on ambitious lines, with long limbs and a lithe build. But he's such a tall, slender cat, you'd expect him to blow over at the slightest breeze. His fur is short, golden cream on top and white on his legs, belly, and face. His eyes are dark, orangy amber, and his ears are very pointed. His face is angular and kind of somber-looking, with his dark eyes and long, feathery whiskers. His paws are hard, and not just from his long travels. The blood of SkyClan runs in his veins, giving him strong, durable paw pads as well as powerful haunches. Bloom's long, powerful legs make him an amazing jumper, and he has a knack for climbing trees as well due to long, wickedly curved claws. Everything about him is long; his legs, his tail, his body, even his face. In some cats this might be intimidating, but Bloom is too much of a gentle pushover to frighten anyone. He can look friendly, teasing, kind, or even sad, but it's clear from the honesty in his eyes that he would never purposefully hurt anyone.

Bloom is a cat who has given up on life. His view of the world could be called lazy; if he saw a Twoleg monster bearing down on him, he'd probably shrug and accept it as inevitable that he's going to be squished. Bloom is a gentle cat; he isn't confrontational in the least, has virtually no temper at all except regarding his family, and is capable of caring deeply for anyone close to him. But he is also very impulsive, and somewhat careless regarding his own safety. He isn't suicidal, but does have rather self-destructive tendencies. He has no determination, giving up easily on tasks of any magnitude and moving on to something else. While Bloom is certainly not reliable in any regard, he is certainly capable of love. He's a sensitive, kind cat, and tends to be somewhat reserved, but is generally has a carefree attitude about him. He can be an amusing sort of fellow if he tries, but should danger come knocking, he will be slipping out the back door faster than you can say 'mouse.' It would take a very exceptional occurrence to cause him to grow a spine and make him stand up for himself for once in his life.
To fully understand Bloom's present position, you must understand the history behind it. His mother was an eccentric loner named Dove, a cat who was as whimsical and fluid as the clouds that passed overhead. Her mate was a cold, unfriendly cat, a loner who never saw any use for her beyond a mother for his kits. Even then, he didn't love his kits either. Dove's first litter was small, and born in early leaf-fall. All but one died over the winter, despite the queen's best efforts. Shadedstep, her mate, didn't make a single appearance during this time. The next time she saw him, he told her that the deaths of her kits was her fault and her kits fault, for being so weak.m o t h e r : Dove
When Dove's second litter was born, it was early newleaf. She had only two kits, a white she-cat and a cream-and-white tom. She named the she-cat Snowy for her white pelt, and the tom she called Bloom, because his pale ginger fur was so beautiful. Life looked rosy for the little family... after all, it was just beginning to warm up, both kits were healthy, and Dove had Mouse- the one surviving kit from her last litter- to help her care for the newborns. But misfortune struck in a way that Dove wasn't expecting, though it wasn't that strange if you thought about it. An enterprising fox, scenting the little kits, attacked the queen in an attempt to steal her kits from her. Dove fought the fox off with Mouse's help, though her kit was not yet eight moons old, but the damage was done. Dove suffered a bite to the leg, which became infected and got progressively worse over the next several days. Finally, when her youngest kits were only two moons old, she fled the forest to go live with her new mate: an adventurous kittypet named Timpany, whose comfort and friendship had blossomed into love.
Dove's kits were now left alone to fend for themselves. Mouse, who was still only eight moons old, struggled as best she could to raise two moon-old Snowy and Bloom. Their survival is owed in great part to the fact that it was mid-newleaf, and the prey was running high once more. It was months before the kits had to worry about more than just finding catching a few mice and finding a safe place to sleep for the night. But soon it was leaf-bare, and the kits once more had to struggle to survive. By this time Bloom and Snowy were ten moons old; Mouse was sixteen. All could take care of themselves, but Mouse still made the decisions in the group. After a particularly cold night, the grey she-cat made the decision to take her siblings and join SkyClan.
Dove had lived in the forest bordering the ancient Clan's territory. Her mate- Shadedstep- was in fact half SkyClan, born of a SkyClan warrior's brief affair with his loner mother. With SkyClan blood coursing through the veins of all three kits, Mouse felt confident that they would be accepted easily into the Clan, which had a reputation for being a reasonable group of cats, since their ancestors comprised mainly of loners and kittypets. The kits made their way over to the ravine-dwelling Clan and introduced themselves. Within two moons, all three cats had gained new names and new lives. They were accepted into SkyClan as full-fledged warriors.
Mousewhisker quickly became a skilled and respected warrior, and Snowyflower was well liked by the whole Clan for her gentle nature and unfailing courage. But Bloom - now called Sandbreeze - was not suited to Clan life, as his sisters were. Though Mousewhisker was already eight moons old when their mother left, Snowyflower and Bloom weren't even two moons. Neither kit had any memories of their mother, and though Snowyflower and Mousewhisker shrugged off Dove's abandonment without too much effort, Bloom was deeply affected by it. Unable to forget his bitterness, he became unfocused and distant. Just like his mother gave up on him, he gave up on life. Only a moon after receiving his warrior name, Bloom suddenly left SkyClan without even saying goodbye. He doesn't know what his sisters think became of him, but - unlike him - they're strong cats. He's sure they'll be fine.
For a short time after leaving SkyClan, Bloom wandered the forest where he and his sisters used to dwell. However, after a chance encounter with his mother, who had taken to making regular trips into the forest in an effort to find her kits, the young tom fled the forest, and all its memories. He recognized the cat who was his mother so long ago, but after her abandonment he had no wish to know her any longer. He followed the river and kept going until he found the Clans' forest. Ever since then, he has been roaming aimlessly around, living without a purpose and trying to survive without exerting any effort. He has considered getting over his hurt and getting a life, but so far hasn't mustered the will to try.

Synchronizing watches
To the seconds that we lost
I looked up and saw you
I know that you saw me
We froze but for a moment
In empathy
I brought down the sky for you but all you did was shrug
You gave my emptiness a name
And you ran away
Now all my friends are gone
Maybe we’ve outgrown all the things that we once loved
Run away
But what are we running from?
