Mousepaw, unlike her parents, has several flaws to her and yet there is still a beauty beneath that. Her fur is zig-zagged with tabby stripes. The dusty brown beneath it earned her the name of Mousekit, even if mice aren't always that color. The color is faint and the stripes are almost too bold. As if that wasn't enough, the she-cat's muzzle is white in hue. Even her paws are beginning to change into the same color.
That's just her fur though. Mousepaw has ears slightly too large for her head. Perfectly rounded in shape but just a size too much. Her muzzle is short and tipped in a black and pink nose. Some light whiskers speckle her muzzle but one or two are actually black. A small flaw but a larger one to her eyes. Her shoulders are narrow like the rest of her body. She's perfect for the WindClan rabbits, if only she was better at hunting. Mousepaw is simply dwarfed in general. Even at her age, she just seems to be small compared to those of her age. But nevermind that. This little she-cat is all flaws and all beauty none the less.
The most admired piece to her has been the eyes. Always have, always will. The light gray color can make even the harshest leader calm enough to send her away without punishment. It’s a good thing it works so well because she gets in trouble a good amount of the time. Sadly, it’s another flaw from her parents. Mousepaw often looks at herself when the puddles gather in the territory. When they do, she thinks to herself one thing. “Why couldn’t I have just been like my parents?”
Personality:
At first, Mousepaw may seem sweet and kind but she really isn’t all that she may seem to be. This apprentice has been known to take a turn into a different cat when alone. When with her Clan or others, Mousepaw is extremely cautious and can be quick to apologize for anything. She seems innocent as any she-cat can be. But you have it wrong there, my friend. When you turn your back, she’ll be the first to pounce in a game. She has been known for sneaking out of camp at night to simply wander the meadows aimlessly. When caught, she would just use the excuse that it was a beautiful night, no matter the weather. Even worse, she is a fighter if anybody tries to say she isn’t a very good apprentice. She thinks she is and that’s all that seems to matter. Be careful, is all there is to say. Never judge a book by its cover.
History:
Two great warriors of WindClan, Earthstripe and Sorrelspot, grew a deep love for one another. The two of them were very similar. They were proud, strong cats with perfect pelts, perfect attitudes, and perfect lives. They had given birth to a litter previously consisting of Mintkit and Dusk-kit. However, Dusk-kit was blind and Mintkit was trying to dedicate her young life to her sister. Well, one accident managed to spring up and so she was pregnant while still in the nursery. That is the story of Mousepaw.
It was Sorrelspot’s second litter and only Mousekit was born into it. Still, this she-kit was amazingly healthy no matter what. That kit was everything opposite of her parents it seemed. Her fur was pale and covered in oddly bold stripes, unlike her dark tabby father. Her maw was white; a marking in her pelt, and her nose was ringed in black. She was small but healthy at least. Finally, her eyes opened to reveal the strangest hue of pale gray eyes. Shocked by this color, the queen was sure that this kit was more than just a kit. She was a different kit. Dubbed Mousekit for her fur, the youngster slowly began to develop her personality.
This had to be the worst part for her mother. Mousekit would kindly sit and listen to the elder’s tales but when her mother wasn’t looking, the kit would dart off for the territory. Her curiosity at that age couldn’t be compared to. Even to this day, she tries hard to resist the urge to run off randomly. If it wasn't for Mintpaw and Earthstripe’s patience, she probably would be one of those kits that would never have made it to apprenticeship. Mousekit revolved her time around seeing Mintpaw. Mintpaw was her older sister and she couldn’t bear to be without her at times. In fact, Mousekit liked to sneak out and find Mintpaw even when her sister was in the middle of training. Mousekit was obsessed with her older sibling.
Six moons seemed like ages to Mousekit's mother, Sorrelspot, but the time finally came around that she earned her name as Mousepaw. No doubt Sorrelspot would miss the nursery but at least she wasn’t stuck watching Mousepaw anymore.
At first, she was a terrible apprentice. She hunted with little skill, she fought like a terrified youngster would, and she even failed to remember to clean the elders' nests at times. Apprenticeship was not as it was cracked up to be for her. She was thankful to have Mintpaw for a moon of her training but then her sister became a warrior. This also was when she began wandering off into the territory to drift and let her mind do the same. She was lonely at first without Mintleaf. Other apprentices were becoming warriors and younger apprentices came around. But her age was just in between. It wasn't the greatest place to be when you are the only kit of a litter. But her personality came around to aid her this time. Shy at first, she managed to start awakening the charisma in her and her apprentice days became better. Now she is a fine hunter and an even better fighter.
That doesn’t mean she wasn’t still a bit of a recluse. She loves her nieces and nephews but wants the old Mintleaf back. She hates seeing her sister so uptight about things and even worse would be the fact that her world was revolved around that- that Thistlefrost! She didn’t mind him but she felt a bit jealous. Yes, very jealous, in fact. What had happened to the days of her and Mintleaf just joking and play-fighting? Well, it’s too late now. She’s older now and Mintleaf has given birth to Cedarkit, Dawnkit, Dewkit, and Kestrelkit already.
But her wandering days did not end. In fact, one day on the night of the gathering, she mustered up enough courage to go to the loner's barn. It was a place no WindClan cat ever wanted to be and yet she went. Here, she met only one cat and that was Alfa, a handsome, amazing tom with a lonely personality and a need for companionship. They talked and Mousepaw found herself crushing on him instantly. Who couldn't love that tom? But too soon did she befriend him. Too soon did she jump into the life of a full-grown warrior… too soon...
