It was raining. Alfa didn't like the rain very much. It wasn't the clouds he had a problem with; all they did was cast the land below into a state of darkness and gloom, and that was just fine. He liked darkness well enough, although he wouldn't want it to be dark all the time. No, it was the rain, the sheer slapping, icy wetness of it that he found unpleasant. It wasn't painful really, which he wouldn't have minded so much. It was just that it was so uncomfortable and inconvenient. His fur was plastered coldly do his skin, and his paws were caked with slick, slimy mud. Even moving was uncomfortable, but it wasn't like he could just hunker down and wait for the storm to pass.

He needed a distraction, and no amount of rain could deter him.

Deciding that ShadowClan would likely be keeping a sharp eye out for him, Alfa meandered in the direction of the moors that housed WindClan instead. Mousepaw had been fun to play with, he thought, but she had left far too soon. He needed to see her properly this time, to show her what it was really like to have fun. Alfa tried to scent the air for traces of the young tabby, plans forming in his mind as he did so. They had parted on good terms, had they not? He was sure he could convince her to come away with him, as long as he found her alone. And then... then they would have all the time together that they needed.

Mousepaw would be glad to see him again, he was sure.

Unfortunately, he hadn't counted on the rain washing away all the scent. It hadn't been raining yet when he had set out, but the clouds just had to open and pour down on him. Now he could smell almost nothing, and see nothing except the empty, open lands of the moor. Wait, that wasn't exactly true. Was there a cat over there, huddled and piteous on the ground? He moved closer, inhaling for a trace of scent to identify the shape. It was definitely a young she-cat, and he could just detect a trace of what he thought might be WindClan through the downpour. Younger and frailer than Mousepaw had been, he realized. But she was all alone, with no cat to help her. A tiny cry reached Alfa's ears, coming from the little bundle, and his heart tightened in his chest.

Mousepaw was instantly forgotten.

Instead, the ginger tom padded over to the muddied young cat and leaned over her, scenting and observing as he did so. She was just as small and weak as she appeared at first, obviously a young cat. Cold and disoriented, and he realized, as his golden gaze rested on her sightless, milky one, she was also blind. Helpless. Defenseless. In need of protection and guidance.

Alfa was just the cat to provide such things. If he so chose.

He hadn't come looking for new prey. Mousepaw had been who he was after when he came searching on WindClan's land. But Alfa had never come across a more perfect opportunity than this. Here was a cat who was in absolutely no position to help herself, lying defenseless at his paws. He could do anything he liked with her, anything at all. And he fully intended to take advantage of this surprising yet delightful opportunity. If cats were capable of crying, he would have intended to make her do so. As it was, he wasn't sure if he should move her somewhere safer or just take her right there. Eventually sense won over and he decided that he needed to take his delicate new toy somewhere safer. It wouldn't do to have her stumble away and get lost.

"You look cold, my pet. How ever did you come to be by yourself in such weather?" Purring gently, he brushed his muzzle lightly down the younger cat's so she would be able to feel his presence. She felt cold, so cold. He looked forward to warming her up. But that was something for later. "Do you need some help? " he continued. "A young little thing like you shouldn't be out alone on a morning like this."

[/b] Milky blue eyes stared out hopelessly into the black morning, searched out for the scent that had drifted into their glands.

Suddenly a voice struck out, slipping into the little she-cat's mind like a snake. Morningfrost liked to judge people from their voices, it was the only thing she could, after all, and, just by the sound of this tom's voice she knew she liked him. He sounded like honey. He must have been handsome, not disfigured like her. Shuddering as the tom nuzzled her (he was considerate, too), the tiny ginger and white she-cat shakily pushed herself to her paws. ”I.. got lost.” There was a tiny pause in her speech and a frown shifted over her face as she thought his question over. ”If.. if you don't mind.. I don't want to be a bother..”

If this tome helped her though, someone as handsome sounding as he was, helped out tiny her (who was filthy and flea ridden and nasty, no one would want to look at her, she was sure) then, she surmised, he must be some sort of knight.

If Alfa was another cat, he might have smiled. With glee, perhaps, or anticipation. After all, here he was with the perfect victim, who would submit to him and was too weak to resist should she have wanted to. Surely he was overjoyed at the prospect of such a thing. But Alfa did not smile. In fact, his face did not change at all from the neutral expression that usually graced it. Who would know? The cat staring up at him with such a hopeful, pathetic expression couldn't see it any more than he could hear the little morsel's thoughts. He did not so much as twitch a whisker at the young she-cat's plea. But inside his head, the tom's mind was working.

It was planning and thinking, and it was liking what it was coming up with.

"Of course I don't mind," he lied smoothly. "Cats should help one another in times like this. It's dangerous to get caught out in a storm." The double meaning would be lost to the younger cat, who would hear only a concerned and polite tom commenting on their uncomfortable predicament. The ginger cat moved gracefully around his prey, circling her for a few steps before pressing his rain-soaked fur to her shivering side. "Stand up now," he coaxed, gently but with an underlying tone of command. "Feel free to lean on me. I'm going to take you to safety." Alfa did not ask where she came from, or where she wanted to be escorted back to. He knew of what Clan she was, but he did not intend to take her there. Obviously her Clan hadn't done a very good job of taking care of her if they had let her wander into this storm by herself. He was going to take her somewhere much safer. Somewhere her Clan could not find her, so they wouldn't take her away. They wouldn't be allowed to find her. He would keep her safe.

Yes, she would be his forever. No cat would take her from him. Alfa had decided; she would come with him back to his den. And once she got there, she would stay. Because it was for her own good. And besides.

He didn't want her to go.

He was so kind to help her, she had always figured other cats would just leave her... No one would want to have to take care of a blind cat, after all.

She didn't know why her Clan even kept her around...

What good luck, what extraordinary fortune had brought him this way in such wretched weather! Alfa couldn't help but feel elated despite the omnipresent storm that occasionally threatened to sweep him off his paws. His fur was plastered to his body now, and he certainly wasn't enjoying the sensation of being soaking wet and chilled in the middle of a summer storm. However, a tom as cunning as him couldn't help but realize the opportunity that he had been presented with in this small, naive she-cat who couldn't even see her "rescuer." He could do all manner of things to her, and there would be no one and nothing to stop him.

The tom actually had to resist the urge to stop right there and show his diminutive companion just what kind of cat he could sometimes be. A part of him wanted to... oh, it wanted to. But the sensible, analytical part of him knew that there would be far greater gains to be had if he waited, until he was out of the rain, until he had privacy. And a small, unrecognized voice that Alfa rarely heard and never heeded said that this young she-cat had done nothing at all to deserve such cruelty.

But as was pointed out, Alfa didn't heed that last voice at all.

They were almost there, at a place he knew that was a safe distance outside of WindClan's borders. It wasn't a long journey by any means, but with the rain washing away their trail even as they moved, he knew that any pursuers would have no idea in what direction to look. Soon they would give their lost little Clanmate up for dead, he was sure... and Alfa would come out the victor. Hearing his new pet's lament, the powerful tom felt a light, slightly whimsical smile come over his countenance, though he knew that she could not see it. Yes, she would do very nicely as his own little keep-cat. What did Clan cats call cats who were kept by Twolegs? Kittypets, yes. She would be like his very own kittypet.

"You're of no burden to me, little she-cat," Alfa assured his companion, drawing ever nearer to their destination. "We've almost reached shelter. Soon we can both be dry and comfortable." He would remain pleasant until they were both safe within, away from the storm. Of course he had other places in which he could stay; he wasn't limited to the abandoned den in a forgotten thicket. But tonight it was the closest shelter, and his fragile young companion would probably appreciate the company for the first little while. That is, if she found the fortitude to appreciate anything he did for her after what he planned to inflict.

He truly hoped that she did; Alfa found himself increasingly drawn to her sweet, innocent demeanour, and while that by no means spared her from his malicious intentions, he hoped that she would retain those qualities during and after the night's activities. And, he thought with a smirk, perhaps it was a good thing that the storm didn't look like it was going to let up any time soon. After all, he wasn't sure how old this cat was, but she certainly didn't look old enough to have kitted before.

The thunder would drown out her screams.

Part of Morningfrost wished she could see her mysterious savior, or, to at least see where he was taking her. The grass felt different to her, thicker, perhaps, and the downpour of rain was doing little to help her already foggy senses. She couldn't smell anything, the rain was the cause for that, she could only feel the pelt of her savior against her, (not to mention to soggy ground), and what little she could hear was muffled by the strange loner. No one seemed awake right now, anyway. She had no clear idea of what time it was but, she heard no cries of prey or the hushed voices of WindClan cats. Either it was late or- or she had wandered off too far.

Oh, oh how she wished she knew where she was.

But she dared not speak up, because that would be rude. So very rude and, oh, she couldn't be rude to her savior. To the tom who was so kind to her, so gentle. He was helping her out and not asking for anything in return, (not that she had anything to give him), and taking her in, until the storm passed. One she got home, back to WindClan, she would be sure to tell Ravenstar of this. Maybe then this tom could be accepted into the Clan? And then, then Morningfrost would of done something worthwhile. She would of helped the Clan out, brought another warrior into the Clan, for strength. Yes, yes, it would be wonderful, it would.

”I-i'm not?” He was lying, obviously, to try to make her feel better. Morningfrost knew she was a burden though, there was no need to lie.

The action though, did make her feel a little better. This tom would lie to try to make her feel better. Yes, he truly was a StarClan blessed cat, sent to help her out.

Squirming a bit as a question came to her mind, the tiny she-cat took another step forward, careful to keep up with the tom.

”I... I'm sorry to bother you b-but, could I please know your name?”

Yes, it would be nice to know the name of her savior.[/blockquote][/ul]

Ah, here they were. Alfa knew the land about them now; they had moved well past the bounds of WindClan's land, and into his domain. Soon they would be inside a nice, spacious, dry den, one of the many that he had found over the moons and tended to use whenever he was nearby. It also had the added bonus of being close enough to be difficult for any struggling cats to escape, and he had certainly lured more than one unwary feline into depths much similar to these on other occasions. In this instance, his prey was also weak and small as well; he doubted it mattered where she was taken, so long as they weren't disturbed, for he couldn't see her ever managing to actually escape.

"Here we are, my pet!" he said cheerfully over the noise of the storm, ushering his rain-soaked companion forward with the sweep of his tail. "You will know my name in good time. First let us focus on getting dry and comfortable." He didn't wait for argument or hesitation. Gently, but firmly, the ginger tom ushered his diminutive guest into the yawning, black entrance of an old fox den. Rain beat down on the two of them, stirring the mud around them until both had crawled into the lightless tunnel, which continued on for several tail-lengths until it broadened out into a comfortable, sandy-floored den. The floor was bare of any moss or bracken, however there weren't any pebbles or roots to stick up uncomfortably, so it served fine as a shelter for one night.

Stopping in the small, fox-made cavern, Alfa turned his head so that his whiskers brushed against Morningfrost's face. He wanted to see her, but in the darkness he was just as blind as she, so he would have to keep track of the female by sound and feel. Thunder cracked outside, mirroring the sundering of his own restraint now that he had finally reached safety with his prize. It was a pity that he could not see her, but it didn't truly matter. The feel of her under him, the scent of her fear, the sound as her cries were swallowed by the storm... he hadn't even begun to touch her, and already his body was alive with anticipation.

"You want to know my name, yes?" he asked conversationally, slowly circling Morningfrost in the pitch dark, mapping her body with his whiskers. He swore he could feel her trembling already, although it might have been from the chill of the rain. And that was all it took--in a heartbeat he was on top of her, covering her body with his as the last vestiges of control disintegrated and his facade faded away completely. Stupid, foolish cat. She would never be going back to her Clan... oh no, he wouldn't allow that. She was his now, and he intended to keep her nice and safe, all to himself.

"I will tell you now, as I take you, so you will never think of me without remembering, my pet. Alfa is my name, and so shall you address me hereafter, for I think that we shall see much more of each other from now on." Disturbingly calm, he murmured in her ear and then pressed his nose to the back of her neck, gently, almost lovingly. She smelled of WindClan, but soon enough her scent, too, would belong solely to him. It was such a pleasing thought that he was already purring as he sank his teeth painfully into Morningfrost's scruff, holding her still as he satisfied the twisted desire that had so tormented him. If he believed in StarClan, he would have thanked them for sending such a perfect creature to him. As it was, the only one he had to thank for his gratification now was himself. And Morningfrost, well.

She was his reward.
