Welcome, To the World of Aixrye!
Somewhere, in some universe, there is a planet much like our planet, Earth. Hundreds of thousands, if not billions, of species of animals and multiple groups of young humanoid breeds, as well as a few dozen types of other creatures inhabit this planet. The humanoids, creatures and the animals that inhabit the planet are almost identical to those from Earth. Many of the creatures are similar to the 'mythical' or 'extinct' creatures from Earth's historical writings. Dragons, griffins, sea-monsters, a few ancient mammals, birds and reptiles are but a few examples.
This planet, which we shall call Aixrye, is made up of three large continents. The main continent, Hyux, is where all of the dragons reside. The second, slightly smaller continent called Tyiar, is where many of the ancient creatures originated. Lastly, the smallest continent, K'twai, is home to the griffins. Many have thought that the continents were once one large, singular landmass. But no matter what anyone does, it cannot be proven and many disagree, believing that the world has always been as it is. One reason is that all of the continents have vastly different climates. Hyux, the largest of them, has many different climates... It has a very large desert, a huge forest, many large plains and an extensive mountain range that divides the continent in two. The smallest continent, K'twai, is made up of mostly barren mountains, plains and sparse forest. Lastly, Tyiar, a hot and humid place that is full of life, both plant and animal. Almost the entire continent is made up of dense forests, many large plains and areas of rain forests.
All of the creatures, living on their separate continents had never met one another, save for the a few of the dragons and sea-monsters because the distance between the continents is great. Griffins and dragons could easily fly across the wide expanses of ocean, but why bother? Everyone lived in peace and comfort. Most of the dragons had no desire to leave their wonderful homeland. The griffins did not want to leave their nests, for they were never safe from egg thieves. The ancient creatures and many other animals had no means to leave their home. Lastly, the sea monsters could go anywhere, see anything, but they mostly kept to themselves and stayed in the deepest reaches of the oceans...
Everything changed once the humanoids came into being and started to evolve and spread to all the continents... Using their magic and special abilities to move high up in the chain of things. The humans soon became the dominant species, humanoids coming second. They quickly mastered making tools and using their magic to assist them in creating towns and even a few large cities. So far though, compared to modern day technology, the humans and humanoids of Aixrye were still rather primitive, only just barely realizing steam energies. Magic is the main source of almost all power and advances in Aixrye. The non-magic related technology could be closely compared to Earths 'medieval times'.
No creature knows how the humans and humanoids came to be. Some think the dragons created them with their magic, others say they are a freak mutation of some sort. All any of the creatures know is that once the humanoids started to spread, all hell broke loose. The humanoids made ships to travel across the ocean waters, allowing them to get to all of the continents. They lived in peace at first... But then, they turned against all the creatures! Killing almost all of the ancient creatures, only those that could hide survived and the ancient felines, the saber-cats and the small and swift bird-like creature archaeopteryx were the main survivors on the continent of Tyiar. The dragons became all but extinct, only a few of them survive to this day. And lastly, the griffins became an enslaved race after thousands of nests were destroyed.
Many hundreds of years have passed and the humanoids now rule Aixrye. The mighty dragons have all but disappeared, the sea-monsters are almost never seen, the creatures of Tyiar live in hiding or as pets and slaves, just as the griffins live as slaves. But, things are starting to change... Griffins and saber-cats are starting to ignore and even attack the humanoids, dragons are attacking villages and sea-monsters attack ships at sea. Even the humans and humanoids are fighting amongst themselves! Why? Only a chosen few will know, and only they can stop what is happening...

In a small cave on the main continent, a young woman sleeps beside her faithful companion. They had flown here from across the ocean, from her home on the continent K'twai. As she slept, she had another of those strange dreams... She was visited once before by a presence known to her as Spirit, he, or she, for the woman was uncertain of its possible gender, seemed familiar to her, yet, somehow completely alien at the same time. The first time she met Spirit, in her dreams, Spirit had said to travel to Hyux and that once she was there, they would speak again.
Fast asleep, the young woman was thrown into a dream. She was standing in a small field of flowers, everything beyond the edge of the field just faded into blackness...
"Avantasia..." a soft voice echoed in the young woman's mind as she stood in the center of the field.
"You are the being, the spirit who has contacted me before?" she questioned, looking around but not seeing anyone or anything. "Yes. You must hurry and find the others... Time is short, the world is in great danger," the voice spoke again, with a slight sadness.
"You've mentioned these 'others' before... Who are they? How will I find them? And what danger? How do I know I can trust you?"
"Time is short...I will explain what I can but you must not tell anyone what I share with you. The others will know, do not worry about that," he spoke, his voice fading till it could almost not be heard.
"Alright, I understand, but-" the woman starts to respond, only to be cut off as the voice speaks up again.
"Hush, my child, all will be revealed soon. Now, listen as I tell you what is happening in this world of ours and how you might yet save it," the voice said calmly.
Avantasia had nothing to say here, she just listened, her mind in a whirl. She stayed silent though, for her mind was working faster then the rushing river as it flowed over the edge of the cliff, creating a waterfall. Her tongue, though, felt as slow as a snail making its way along the branch of a tree, towards the next leaf...
"You know how your race came into being? No, I imagine you don't... No mortal creature knows... So, I shall start there. You, the animal humanoids, were created through magic from the original humans. Who was it that created you? Not even I know that... All I know is that now, He has returned to this world-"
"Who is "he" exactly?" Ava could not help interrupting.
"The one that is a destroyer of worlds, He is the reason so many now fight needlessly... He is the one that you must find and stop, or all will be lost."
"But what exac-" she starts to interrupt again, only to get cut off.
"Listen to me, Ava, you must first find the others. Once you have found them, all shall be revealed..."
Lightning flashed and thunder resounded, reverberating throughout the cave, awakening Ava. Sitting bolt upright, the young human looked around with wide eyes, her turquoise irises dilated to allow more light into them so that she could see in the darkness. The hair on the back of her neck was standing on end. Looking around, for her eyes had adjusted to the caves darkness, Ava could see that everything is as it was, other then the fact that there was a storm raging just outside the cave mouth. Turning her attention to the large wolf she was with, who was watching her and gave a small bark at the girl when they made eye contact. Ava offered a smile in response. The wolf, Kai, was her faithful companion. He had been by her side ever since that night she found him curled up in a ball amongst the leaves and mud.
Now, far from home and all alone in another foreign lands cave, Kai looked to his sister, for that is how they think of each other, as siblings, and he turned his head to the side as if asking a question.
Avantasia remained silent before replaying her dream to her companion, words and visions flowing through Kai's mind as if he too were there with her during the dream. This was how Avantasia had learned to speak with her brother after losing her voice to a devastating injury... Reaching up, Ava gently stroked Kai's head and curled up against his warm side, for they had been asleep with one another, side by side.
After a few moments, she started to drift back to sleep, trying to figure out just what it was Spirit was trying to tell her...
Should she trust it...?

After years of peace, something has happened to the land. Many of the creatures of Aixrye that were once peaceful and lived in harmony are now at each others throats! It is completely unknown as to why this sudden outbreak of violence has started... But, a few chosen ones that have received a strange dream from the one known as 'Spirit' know a little about what is happening. Spirit came to you in a dream, said essentially the same thing to you as was said to Avantasia and then vanished, leaving you confused but strongly compelled to find out what this 'Spirit' had meant. You travel from your home, looking for answers. You may choose to either meet up with Ava (played by Lyxii) and try to find out what this 'evil' is or you can choose to try and ignore the dream...
There is no real plan, you are all just searching to find more about this 'evil'. Some of you might want to find and stop this evil, others to join it... You will travel the world, searching for clues, searching for proof. Proof of what? That there is an evil of sorts causing mayhem and destruction? Are you searching for ways to stop it, or looking for ways to help it..?
I will drop hints, make things happen, bring some of you closer, others, I will lead astray... Once you have discovered, or think you have discovered, what the 'evil' is, what 'it' wants... What will you do? What will happen? Who will prevail?
Only in time, will we find out...

Aixrye is a planet made up of three continents.
Here is a map of the world.
Thanks to Sporelett for the map!
Just below is a small description of each individual continent. ^^
Hyux
The biggest continent, Hyux has many different environments. First, the continent is divided in two. There is a huge mountain range that snakes across the continent. Because of this, the environments are somewhat varied. It has two large deserts, one on either side of the mountains, but one is vastly bigger then the other. There are also large areas of forest on either side, accompanied by sparsely wooded areas and many fields. On one side, there is a large savanna that melts into the desert.
Tyiar
The hottest, most humid and heavily wooded of the continents, Tyiar is one long, green and brown spot in the middle of a giant blue ocean. The continent is mostly made of dense forest. Most of them turning into rain forests, once you get deep into them, towards their center. There are a few areas of sparse woodland, and even a few lonely fields.
K'twai
The smallest of the three continents and by far, the most harsh. K'twai has a small mountain range of it's own. With large sea cliffs on many sides, it is not easy for invaders of any sort to get on the continent. Even so, humanoids have made it here. Only a few have bothered to stay, for many find the landscape to barren or wild for living and would rather live on Hyux or Tyiar. With rocky deserts and large, barren savannas covering most of the continent, it's no wonder why so few would live there. But, amazingly, a lot of people like to live there, and many of the people that do, make a living in the sparse woodland that is scattered all around.

Humans were the first, and make up the majority of all the humanoids. All the others came to be after the humans, but no one knows how or why.
Humans
: (... Kind of self explanatory but hey, lets fill this out anyway!)Humans
Humans make up the majority of the humanoids, they live everywhere and thrive easily, living to be about 50-70 years of age. Humans, as well as all the other humanoids, are social by nature, usually living in large family groups or communities. Humans are noted for their desire to understand and influence their environment, seeking to explain and manipulate natural phenomena through science, philosophy, mythology and religion. This natural curiosity has led to the development of advanced tools and skills, which are passed down culturally; humans are the first of the extant species known to build fires, cook their food, clothe themselves, and use numerous other technologies.
((All the animal humanoids get along okay with the humans... Some humans, and humanoids, are highly racist. Then, there are those who don't care at all. It all matters on the family and their individual experiences...))
(((Because of a want for diversity, there can only be a maximum of one of the following animal humanoids. PM me if you are serious about joining and want to reserve one of them. ^^
Also, you may create a species to play as, but please, if you do, be decently descriptive about it. And PM it to me!!! Don't post it! If I accept it, I'll add it here.)))
Felixians: (1 left)
The 'Cat people' as some have come to call them, are just that, humanoids that look like cats. Many differ in how much like a cat they look like. Some only have the ears, tail and claws. Others look more cat then human. Claws, a tail, ears, fangs, whiskers, fur... Some have a face that protrudes forward in a cat-like appearance, as well as hind legs that are shaped just like a cats. There are many individuals, varying greatly in how cat-like they appear.
The Felixians and Lupans have never gotten along very well... Most of the time, when they meet, they call each other vulgar names and insults.
Lupans: (1 left)
'Wolf men' is what these people are most commonly referred to as. Lupans most commonly have the distinctive snout, pointed ears and large, bushy tail of a wolf. A few are more human in appearance, having just the ears, large canine teeth and tail. At the same time, some look almost like a wolf on two legs! They have the head of a wolf, fur covering their body, the hind legs and tail.
Again, the Lupans and Felixians have never gotten along very well. Most of the time, when they meet, they call each other vulgar names and insults.
Avixans: (Played by Yoko)
The 'Fliers' as they are most commonly called. They look almost perfectly human, save for the wings that are seen on their backs and they are of all types. Some have the eyes, hearing and wings of an owl. Others have the wings of an eagle or even a swallow! No matter what bird the person is a part of, they usually have a trait that their avian counterpart would. An eagle would be a powerful, yet slow flier. A falcon would be fast and agile but not be very strong... Avixans get along well with the other two animal humanoids, only they are slightly wary when around the Felixians.

Ferogen: (Created by Sporelett. Played by Vixune)
(1 left)
The Ferogenn are a typically chaotic race of people. Like many of Aixyre's other humanoids, they bear close resemblance to ordinary humans, but possess several differentiating features. The typical Ferogen is slightly smaller than a human, and more lightly built. The average height for Ferogen males is 5'4"; the average female height is exactly five feet. They typically have lithe, flexible bodies, with mobile joints and flexible spines. The most immediately obvious trait of a Ferogen is their hair; the range in hair colour ranges from pitch black to pure white, and includes every imaginable colour or shade in between. Ferogenn take great pride in their hair, and generally wear it long, sometimes in complex styles or with baubles of some sort woven into it.
Perhaps the most strange and interesting feature of the Ferogenn is their unique ability to alter their bodies at will. All it takes is physical contact with another animal, with the Ferogen in question focusing on the other creature, and instinct will take care of the rest. Depending on how skilled an individual is with their ability, they may be able to control their transformation more precisely, or change more quickly. Masters of the changing ability can change from a bear straight into a hummingbird in the blink of an eye; a few absolute failures regarding the ability were only able to alter slowly into other similarly-sized or shaped creatures. Ferogenn mature quickly, and can live for a long time. Due to their fast metabolism they must eat proportionally large amounts, but females have reached their adult size by the age of ten. Males stop growing a few years later. No one knows if a Ferogen can die from old age.
Ferogen culture is very closely related with the natural world. Because of their ability to change their shape into almost any conceivable form, it is their common belief that Ferogenn are just a small part of the world, without being set apart from it. They tend to dwell in wild areas, changing as little as possible around them while making a living. Many Ferogenn have a very strong connection with other animals, and it is not uncommon to find one or two in a Clan who can actually converse with them. Ferogenn live in groups of several dozen individuals, and move around regularly to impact the environment less, as well as to increase the chances of running into another Clan. When two Clans meet, members often change groups for a change of scenery, and to keep blood lines strong.
Irai: (Created by Sporelett. Played by Sporelett) (1 left)
The dwellers of Aixrye's oceans and seas have been called many things by other races--mer-people, aquians, selkies--but among their own kind, they are simply irai. The irai are a race of tall, powerful water-dwelling humanoids with glistening, scaled skin and long webbed appendages. Females and males of the species tend to be around the same size, both averaging out to a height of six and a half feet. They have high tolerance for cold temperatures and have even been seen off the coast of K'twai's northernmost shore, swimming easily amongst the icebergs. Most irai have at least limited control over the elements of water and ice, and some of the greatest water-mages in the world are of iraian blood. Although powerful and cultured, they tend to be reclusive as a species and like to keep to themselves, often being borderline hostile to outsiders. Irai are also famous for their military strength, and have proven devastating to their enemies whenever they engage in battle. One of the less-common races on Aixrye, they breed slowly, and age slowly as well, reaching adulthood at the age of fifty and living up to four hundred years.
If you have a creature you would like to see in the RP, or have as a companion, PM it to me and I may add it! ^^
Dragons
:Dragons
Proud, intelligent, strong and loyal to their kin. They loved all the animals around them, big, small, enemy or prey...it mattered not. Most of the time, you would find the dragons sun or star bathing, playing with their young or helping any of the other animals. Dragons, truly are amazing creatures. They come in hundreds of different sizes and shapes, many having elemental powers.
Griffins:
Griffins are beasts like lions, with the wings and beak of an eagle. They generally look like a lion with an eagle's head, forefeet and wings, and straight horse-like ears. Some have the entire body of a lion, head of an eagle and eagles wings.
Loyal beyond reason, extremely protective over kin, extremely proud, even to a point of being called conceded. Griffins loved to soar high on the winds or run on the savannas. They could usually be seen flying around their families nesting area, watching for any possible threat. Most griffins have the ability to use telepathy.
Sea-monsters:
Sea monsters. They are a mystery to all... Almost never seen, they are unknown to all but the unlucky few to have met them out at sea. Most never survive such an encounter. The few that do have spread the rumors of gigantic snake-like or sometimes even dragon-like creatures, eager to kill and destroy. Only the dragons know the truth beyond the rumors...
Saber-toothed cats:
These large felines evolved their saber-toothed characteristics entirely independently. They are most known for having maxillary canines which can grow up to 50 cm long and extend down from the mouth even when the mouth is closed. Saber-toothed cats are generally more robust than other species of large cats and are quite bear-like in build. They are excellent hunters and hunt many types of large prey.
Archaeopteryx:
Archaeopteryx is a seemingly primitive type of bird. Archaeopteryx is roughly the size of a medium-sized bird, with broad wings that are rounded at the ends and a long tail compared to its body length. In all, archaeopteryx can reach up to 500 millimeters (1.6 ft) in body length. Archaeopteryx has many theropod dinosaur characteristics. Unlike modern birds, it has small teeth as well as a long bony tail, features which archaeopteryx shares with some of the dinosaurs of Tyiar. Because it displays a number of features common to both birds and dinosaurs, archaeopteryx has often been considered a link between them—possibly the first bird in its change from a land dweller to a bird.
________________________
Fox Squirrel: X -- X (Created by, Vixune)
Small, cat-like animals, generally found feral and considered impossible to domesticate. These cute creatures always look to be the same, only a few of the stripes on their fur giving away that they are different. All of these little creatures have a black 'cap' on the tops of their heads, black tipped ears and a black tipped tail. Their fur is a sandy color with either dark brown or black stripes, with a cream white mane, chest and underside. Almost always as well, they have pure green eyes, with no obvious pupil. These wild little animals make their home on K'twai, living in the sparse forests and cliff sides. Few people ever get close to these little devils, and fewer still have ever touched them. They truly are one of the last free, wild and untamed mammals of K'twai.
Drakes: (Created by, Vixune)
Drakes are a sub-species to Dragons. They have hundreds of different forms and are in far greater numbers than the ancient Dragons. There are many types of Drakes, living in all corners of Aixrye. Drakes are a lot like their Dragon ancestors, only they have evolved in many ways to fit into the specific area they call home. Most commonly, Drakes have shrunk in size. Many also have stayed decently large, all depending on where it is they live. Almost all Drakes still have wings but most have lost the ability to use them. Some breeds can still fly, but only for a very limited time or distance, most only being able to glide. They have greatly adapted and changing to better fit to their surrounding habitat. Your character can have the ability to control one of the following elements. If you need further explanation PM me... Also, if you have an ability you would like to add, just PM me and we can discuss adding it.
Earth:
Available Slots: 0/2Earth:
The magic ability over Earth is more of a defensive trait rather than offensive. An Earth Magic User has the ability to manipulate rocks, stone, minerals and other dense materials that are naturally found. However, they are limited when it comes to density. This means that the Earth Magic User has more control over rocks, pebbles, and other mineral chunks than they do over sand because of the millions of tiny pieces you must control.
Earth Users can pull rocks from within the Earth to create shields and obstacles in a battle, or even use them to crush and impale enemies that are within a close vicinity. They do not have the ability to throw large rocks over great distances, but may use rocks as deadly projectiles if the target is in range. As for advanced and master Earth Uses, they are capable of shaping Earthly materials to form their own armor is they so choose.
As mentioned before, Earth Users are limited to natural occurring materials. So controlling your forged weapons and armor is impossible unless you are a master. Even then you are extremely limited and it is often too difficult to try. Especially when the minerals are mixed, matched, and spellbound.
Fire: Available Slots: 1/2
Fire Users can control, and manipulate flame, but not without a flame source. This is the biggest weakness for fire users, but this by no means makes them less dangerous. Fire users are mainly used for offensive attacks, and they pack a powerful punch with their abilities if they are used right. Unfortunately, Fire is the most dangerous element in the world of Aixrye, and the users of this element are either shunned or avoided. Indeed, fire is still hard to control and it can damage allies if the user loses concentration...
Inexperienced Fire Users are usually the wild cards. Depending on how much they can control, it isn't rare for them to bite off more than they can chew and injure themselves or others. Giving the reason why they are avoided. Of course, with enough mistakes one can learn to master these abilities..
Experienced and Advanced Fire users are some of the most dangerous foes to come across when it comes to element users. If used and manipulated correctly, fire can be just as freely used as the Wind element, making the attacks extremely unpredictable and able to change on a whim. All Fire Element Users tend to have a high tolerance for heat and a low tolerance for extreme cold.
Water: Available Slots: 0/3
A very common element, Water Magic is almost similar to both Nature and Earth magic. There are some healing properties in Water Magic, but nothing like that of Nature. One can reduce pain and stop bleeding, but not truly fix the wound. Like Earth, Water users are limited by quantity. Too much water, and the user can find themselves draining too much of their energy and lose consciousness should their judgment fail. Of course, if used correctly this element can be quite useful with offensive attacks and quick getaways. Lucky for these users, water is found in many places, especially plants and in their own sweat or containers. Also, like Earth, it is easier to control pure water than mixtures such as juice, ale, or other unnatural liquids. Water Element Users are usually pretty decent swimmers, and can swim faster than other Element users.
When it comes to ice, the element remains similar to Earth magic, and can be used as projectiles or to even walk over water in some cases. Of course, it is draining to convert water into ice, or vice versa.
Young Users of this Element are usually more able to do close range combat with a constant water source. One of the more surprising traits to this element is that both young and old users grasp their abilities and advance rather quickly, it all depends on how much time they have devoted to their abilities. They are naturally quick learners, but their control over this element is assumed to be because water makes up most of what we are. Which most likely has an influence on the user's body.
Air: Available Slots: 1/2
One of the more rare elements that are controlled, Air Magic Users have both offensive and defensive abilities. Able to control the air around them in many ways, Air Magic Users are also the hardest to notice because their element is invisible. This makes their attacks hard to predict and notice. Air is also an element that can be used to influence other Elemental User's magic. So having an Air Magic alli is very useful in many situations. Naturally, users of this element are very fast and light on their feet. They are almost impossible to keep up with on foot, and are even faster while mounted because they can easily rid themselves and other individuals or air resistance and put the wind at their back.
Both inexperienced and masters of this element do offer a threat. Of course, younger users are not capable of packing as hard of a punch as more advanced users. Blasts of air to the face can be quite unpleasant, especially if that air contains debris... As for attacks for this element, imagination is needed. These users do have a natural tolerance for temperatures.
For advanced users, beware. The Air Element has the capability of balancing out some other attacks from other elements. Advanced Air Users are capable of influencing some storm elements such as funnel clouds and dust storms... The effectiveness of their abilities depends on the experience of course.
Nature: Available Slots: 0/2
One of the more draining magics, Nature Magic is used by transferring energy into the plant life surrounding the character so they can control it, making this magic very costly to the user. As the name shows, the user can manipulate plant life, making them grow faster, bend and move a certain way, etc. Depending all on how the user sees fit and is able to use them. Most users tend to use this ability to carry seeds for food, herbs or even poisons and make the seeds mature whenever needed, saving the user much pack space. Restraining an enemy using vines, or even making trees and larger plant life smash or injure an enemy isn't uncommon.
Another important role nature magic users share is the healing role. Nature energy and plant life can be used to heal allies and other living things if they so choose. Of course, this can take a lot of energy to do if they are channeling pure energy into an injury to heal it. So it must be used sparingly and wisely.
Young Nature Users are, of course, limited, in their abilities. Their control over plant life is limited by the size of the plant and how much energy they are able to use for healing. The most an inexperienced or young nature user can heal are tears in the flesh and nasty cuts. If a person were to break a bone or gain a fatal injury, they may find their power unable to fix or help the person... Not without rising their own life or energy.
Advanced Nature Magic users can create their own armor and weapons from plant life if they so choose. If used correctly, this magic can be very deadly or have nasty effects on targets. Their healing abilities can also help with fixing fatal injuries.
Animal: Available Slots: 1/2
Has an extremely strong connection to other living creatures. Usually the user can befriend an animal with ease or control an animal of lower intelligence, like a dog or horse. Also, if the user is highly adept with this magic, then they can sometimes speak to animals and understand what they say in turn. Also, for those that can actually speak to animals, they are able to do so in both their normal voice, or telepathically.
Telepathy: Available Slots: 0/1
Can speak to people in their minds, individually or to multiple people at once. Unfortunately, unless the other person is also telepathic, they must speak verbally in response. Depending on how good you are as a user depicts how many people you can speak to at once. (Max of 5-10, please) (NO MIND READING!!!)
(Also, when speaking with telepathy, you must put your words in italics and surround them with these: ~ ~ )
