SPORE'S surprise PARTY

[Yoko]

You enter a radiant ball room with walls of gold and embroidered (yes fabric in the wall) with elegant Fleur de le's and other precious rare flowers. Hanging from the walls also are elaborate violet banners with the Birthday Girl's Name,Sporelett, stretched across the silk in a lovely silver.

If you look up, you will see hundreds of purple and silver balloons lightly bumping and occasionally shuffling on the top of the high dome ceiling.

Stretching before you are three tables, the first is filled to the brim with all sorts of foods.

The Second table is for presents, where everyone is stacking their loving offerings to Sporelett on the silk silver table cloth,. There's a rather large one sitting beside the table wrapped in purple and black wrapping paper with a big silver bow on it. The tag says "Yoko" in illegible cursive. ^^

The third table is the DJ Booth, where Azazel is sitting with his fancy boots crossed on the table. The Muse's red, black, and blond hair is squished beneath some massive head phones, and his violet eyes are looking around boredly at his handy work (he had to inspire Yoko to do all this). Currently, he's letting the music wander randomly on some playlist or another. Currently playing is Muse's: Supermassve Black Hole.

Yoko: Kay everyone, Sporelett's on her way. Post here hiding. ^^ (fail at surprises). Posts can be as long as or short as you want. Presents can be real (Banners, fresh-kill, poems, "IOU", a post that she's been waiting on etc,) or imaginary. Feel free to request DJ Azazel to play a few songs. HAVE FUN! No posting order, but if you know someone's posting at the same time, just give them a minute.

Yoko (dressed dapperly in a blue renassiance jacket with a billowy gold shirt beneath it): Kay everyone, I'm going to go get Spore now. Azazel, shut down the music. Everyone else hide. *sneaks off to get Spore*

[Sydney]

Sydney was no good at surprise parties, actually she had never been to one before so, she couldn't say for sure if she was no good or not. On the other hand though, she was bad at parties where she didn't know everyone. She would usually go “eep happy birthday” and then hover far too close for comfort near whoever she knew until the party ended. This time though, she figured it would be different. She knew everyone here! She could have fun without hovering far too close, though, she tended to hover near her friends just about twenty-four seven.

But, that's against the point.

Brushing her hair back, the tiny teen gave a lopsided grin and plopped her present down on the table. It was kinda small and wrapped in... Sesame Street wrapping paper. Nice.

Pushing up her glasses with her middle finger, the teen gave a frantic flail as Yoko announced everyone to hide and then dove behind the nearest thing she could find.

Having not been to a birthday party in several years, Izzie was maybe a bit too excited. As part of her duties as the official site freeloader, she was basically always here, flailing about and creeping around in the chatbox. If NIF had a basement, Izzie would have lived in it, and so of course she was attending Spore's surprise party.

When Yoko announced that she was going to get Spore, Izzie sneaked a sugar cookie from the plate on the table and darted behind the DJ booth, which was closest. Azazel gave her a look, but then went back to his DJ-ing. She'd never actually been to a surprise party either, and it was a bit nerve-wracking sometimes.

...Well, all she really had to do was yell "surprise!", but for an easily distracted and kind of paranoid teenage girl, timing that yell was more difficult than it sounded.

Izzie adjusted her glasses, which were a little too big and often slid down the bridge of her nose, and patted the present she had brought with her. It was a plain box, because she hadn't had much time to wrap before the party, and contained a badly-drawn birthday cupcake, courtesy of MS Paint and her mouse:



And so, crouched behind the DJ booth, she waited for the guest of honor to arrive.

.: A Short Story :.

One upon a time, there was a maiden by the name of Spore. She ran around, being an admin and flailing her arms randomly. Lots of uncool people thoughts she was a little off, but the she happened upon a coven of amazing sexy beasts. Spore, with her awesome skills, has introduced other noobs and made them awesome. She likes to make very confusing cat DNA charts in the small hours of the morning, which is totally cool.

She eats ice cream and berries on tinychat after being pressured into getting on. She pretended we weren't all taking screencaps to sell to the illegal prostitution trade in South America (I totally did) so they could kidnap her and make her be Kermit the Frog's ho. Then all was well. THE END.

Yoko: Yeah, Azazel, this is Spore.

Azazel: *Goes back behind Booth* Hey Yoko, I think you lost one of your friends here? *kicks Syd in the side playfully*

Yellow couldn't remember the last time she had been to a birthday party. Her friends didn't have too many of those any more, and family birthday parties were always boring, so she didn't often go. But for this party the teen had gotten up early to get ready, making sure she was wearing the best of clothes and had actually put her hair up into some sort of style (which she rarely, rarely did). Her good friend and, somehow, her brother- don't even bother asking her how that crazy family tree worked- was turning seventeen, and it was a day to be celebrated.

She entered the party room with her presents hidden under a cloth, taken aback by the extravagant and elegant decorations with which the room was dressed. Smiling a bit, Yellow assumed it must have been her husband [but somehow still female] Yoko. It seemed like the type of thing she would do, always going above and beyond for her friends. Yellow didn't have anything quite as extreme as her gift, but she hoped it would do just fine.

After noticing the two tables, she approached them and wondered which to place her offerings on. They could just as easily be 'food' or 'presents' but, after a bit of consideration, she placed them on the present table like everyone else's. Yellow smiled a bit at the thought of her one present, as she hoped Spore would like that one, and she had also included a more traditional present to go along with it in case her friend didn't like the first.

[Kitty]

Kitty forgot all about Spore's birthday, what with shopping and going out to eat, so it was as much a surprise to her as it would be to Spore to walk in and find this lovely little place. Thanks to a few friends, however, Kitty got right back on track.

However, she had no present.

This sent Kitty into a frenzy in which she rushed to paint.NET, pulled out her drawing tools, and created the following mess. Satisfied (well, not really, but still) with her work (what could she say, Azarath, her muse, just hadn't provided that muse/skill for her use), she sat back behind the nearest thing she could find (apologizing to Syd quietly for stomping on her foot in the process of ducking behind the present table with her) and awaited the arrival of Spore.

Ki was a very happy Ki. She loved surprises. And she love birthdays. So surprised birthday parties were some of her favorites, though she'd never been to one. She set her present down and seemed very tired. Probably from staying up until early in the morning, working on her NaNoWriMo like a stupid person. When Yoko announced for everyone to hide, Ki ran around in panicked circles until she tripped over her own two feet and half-crawled half-dragged herself to a spot behind the couch. Her muse, Bernard, seemed to have died back there.

He's made out of pixie dust, stars, a spark of lightning, and black matter which comes from the world of muses. He can't do much more than defend you mind from being probed by government agents and aliens. But he'll keep mind readers from stealing your ideas. x3

PS: He needs a name He's pretty big, so maybe he should live outdoors. I didn't draw him, I just colored x3

Hedgie as been hiding under her Rock of Plots this whole time and is still very busy doodling tings for Spore since she ad no time for it at band practice.


HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CLONE!

[Mousy]

Mousy had, admittedly, not had time to prepare for the party. What with rehearsals for the Christmas Musical... thing... stepping up a bit, and physio (how she hated physio), she had had no time for anything. She had brushed her hair a bit, just to look somewhat presentable, but it was staticy and frizzy, and she was convinced that her skirt (she never wore skirts) looked idiotic: she had literally thrown whatever happened to look presentable, which was her tartan school kilt (she still wished that the Head hadn't randomly changed the uniform just before she entered Seniors) and a black short-sleeved shirt, along with her favourite coat: long, and with a fuzzy trim, the one she always wore (and the only bit of clothing that didn't have something spilled down it from rehearsals for the Musical Thingie - it was starting to get annoying that all of her clothing had rehearsal stuff spilt down it, although this coat had wood-shavings and rice in it. Yes, rice. Even though she never ate rice).

Rubbing her temples slightly, Mousy got her offering out of her shoulder bag: it was a nice, purple file, wrapped in crisp red paper, with a short story Mousy had written within it. She hoped sincerely that Spore would appreciate it, since she had taken a lot of time on it.

"Under these conditions," the Commander said anxiously, "we'll be lucky to get there before night-fall. In fact, I should say we'll never get there at all." He glanced at the snowy landscape, and at the group following him, all on sleds pulled by teams of dogs (needless to say, the dogs had been bickering like crazy; he hadn't got a moment's sleep last night, since he had been up every minute or so separating the creatures), the youngest up at the front (the two seven-year-olds with their nineteen-year-old sister, who was the oldest of the group) and the oldest right at the back.

"We'll get there," the nineteen-year-old said, nodding at the Commander. "We'll get there, right, you two?"

A great swooping of wings was suddenly heard, and the nineteen-year-old shoved her little sisters down, in case they were injured.

But they never found out what the sound was, and, as with every other Mission, they turned back empty-handed, eyes downcast and hair wet.

But there was always that pulsating at the backs of their minds. Reminding them always that something else was there.

Mousy had also recorded a quick message on the Internet:

She put the presents on the table, and scooted away, dusting down her idiotic kilt

As she heard Yoko tell everyone to hide, she hid behind the DJ's booth, along with Izzie, who was eating a cookie. She smiled at the other girl, and fell completely silent.
