Specklestar sat in the comfortable dimness of her den. Her tail twitched in annoyance at the days events. She had been in such a hurry to get a patrol out that she'd ohad forgotten to tell Lizardeye how many cats should be sent to Thunderclan. Then, as she was preparing to send Mousefoot on patrol for more foxes, she discovered that Twistedclaw and Lizardeye had disappeared and they didn't have enough warriors.
Now all she could do was sit and wait for some other Medicine cat to come heal her warrior. She shook her head in frustration.
Deep breathes, Specklestar, she told herself. You're at your best when you're calm.
And she had certainly not been calm today. She would just have to wait until Mousefoot returns with news of the Medicine cat's arrival.
