An urgent wake up call!

The light brown tabby ran swiftly out of the medicine cat den. Lizardeye would never move at such speed for a trivial matter. This, by no means, was a trivial matter. The sight of blood had jolted the icy calm cat into a frenzied sort of state. He ran clear across the camp and burst into warrior's den at full speed, barely halting before stepping on a tail.

His bright green gaze scowered the den for an awake warrior. Every cat was asleep at the moment. And why shouldn't they be? He, his siblings, and Brindlepelt had barely just returned from Dawn Patrol. Taking a breath to steady himself, Lizardeye regained composure.

"Wake up, now," Lizardeye spoke in a mild, cold, demanding voice. "Shrewfang, Foxfur, and Oakstorm, come with me. We've an urgent matter to attend. Lightfeather," Lizardeye paused, looking over the brightly colored she-cat. "You may want to stop by the medicine cat den."

He was laying in a field of daisy's, his mate Rivermist beside him. He idly chatted with her as their kits played with a ball of moss. Nothing seemed to matter, but of course, nothing ever mattered in dreams. His ears perked up, he thought he heard a voice. Suddenly the dream was gone as he blinked his eyes. It had been replaced by the warriors den with Lizardeye standing near the entrance.

Foxfur blinked a few times before he registered the situation. He quickly stood up not bothering to shake off the bit of moss that stuck to his fur. "Why'd you wake us up? What happened?" he asked. He felt none of the sleepiness that he had the moment before, but he did feel a bit irritated. Who wouldn't if they were woken up suddenly from a nice sleep?

He stood awaiting an answer to his question and for the other cats to wake up. He wondered what could be urgent enough to have them woken up. He wondered if someone had gotten hurt, if Lightfeather should stop by the medicine cats den then that must of been it. He mentally shook his head there was no point in speculating. For now he just waited for the next order.

Lightfeather blinked awake as a voice penetrated the foggy cloud of unconsciousness. The medicine den? she thought in confusion, Why should I be going to the medicine den? Wait, where- Looking around, the light-coloured warrior realized with growing dismay that Brindlepelt was not in her nest. Adrenaline coursed through her and made her instantly awake as she realized the connotations of the situation, and she leapt to her feet with desperate worry in her eyes.

"What's happened? Is it Brindlepelt?" she gasped anxiously, clawing her mossy nest and fidgeting as if she couldn't keep still. The pale she-cat barely waited for Lizardeye's reply, but her eyes widened with shock and alarm. Without waiting another instant, she flashed past Lizardeye out of the warrior's den and streaked across camp towards the medicine cat's den. If her sister was badly wounded, Lightfeather wanted to be there and do everything she could to help.

Lizardeye felt a violent stab of annoyance at Foxfur's questions. He knew that they were what any normal cat would ask, but because the situation was so serious, Lizardeye could not help but be annoyed by it.

His expression was unchanged. He showed no emotion as Lightfeather brushed by. "I'll explain on the way. Wake the others and meet me at the camp entrance. I'll explain on the way."

Shrewfang tail twitched as she slept. Dreams of being an apprentice, and seeing her cousins filled her mind. It was nice to see their faces and think of them. It had been quite a while since she had actually been to the border with ThunderClan, she chose to ignore it unless absolutely necessary.

Hearing an urgent voice, the brown tabby she-cat awoke, at first confused on where she was. She had nodded to Lizardeye, it was a simple way of saying she was willing to do whatever was needed. But what was with the look on his face, was something wrong?

Hearing the questions from Foxfur, she nodded in agreement. She would have asked the same questions if given a few more moments. But he was off before anything else could be said.

"I hope that its nothing to serious." she murmered, to no one in particular. With a sigh she got onto her paws and stretched slowly.

Immediately woken from a rather pleasant dream, Oakstorm rolled over onto his feet, blinking blearily as he tried to figure out what the cause of the interruption was. His gaze fell on Shewfang, and he yawned widely. "Hmmm... Whassgoinon?" Still sleepy and not quite focusing, it took a while for Oakstorm to register what Lizardeye had said. He frowned as the urgent words sank in, glancing about him as he started to wake up. His brown-and-white pelt was very ruffled from his sleep and now was one of the few times in which he wasn't joking around. Being pulled abruptly from his sleep never put Oakstorm in his best mood.

"Well something must have happened, Lizardeye looked quite intense. Although that's not unusual for him." His feeble joke attempting to lighten the atmosphere, Oakstorm stretched briefly and glanced about him. "We'd better get a move on then." He nodded in the vague direction of the camp entrance. He was eager to know what had ruffled Lizardeye; hopefully nothing awful had happened whilst they slept.
