Description: Frostkit still has her soft, wispy kitten fur. It is a solid snowy white, much the opposite of her mother's black pelt. She does, however, have her mother’s icy blue eyes. Besides the eyes, she’s just about the complete opposite of her mother physically. While her mother is tall, Frostkit is a small, petite cat. While her mother has jet black fur, Frostkit has bright, white fur.
Frostkit has her father’s pale fur, though it’s not grey, and it’s so bright that it’s hard for her to blend in anywhere, except in snow. Her tail and whiskers are both very long. Her tail has very, very faint grey speckles, and though they are barely noticeable, they're there. Her ears are angular and pointed, able to pick up some of the softest sounds, with softer tufts of white in them. Her claws are long and sharp, but they are rarely unsheathed, so you don't have to worry about them.
Frostkit usually carries herself with pride, as though she always has a purpose or destination, standing straight and tall. When she sits, her tail always curls neatly around her small paws. Actually, like her ears, her whole body is sharp and angular. Though she still has her kitten plumpness, it is obvious she will grow up to have detailed features, and stay small.
Personality: Frostkit’s personality changes like the weather. Usually, she’s quite dignified, and is good with words, even for a kit. Her mind is sharp and keen. She’s often quick to act, but not exactly reckless. She’s fairly confident, but very independent.
Frostkit is polite but brief in conversation. She never really liked listening to elder’s tales or precautionary warnings from her mother. She preferred to roam independently. While her heart is large and loving, she doesn’t really like sitting around talking. She’s more of a doer than a talker.
Frostkit can sometimes seem shy, but really she’s just sparing with words. A touch of humor can brighten her up. She loves to laugh and play with her siblings. Really, she’s just your average mischievous ShadowClan kit, plain and simple.
As of late, her unpredictable moods have spiraled out of control. In the wake of her brother and mother's deaths--which she blames herself for--she has become a weak, depressed thing. As more of the cats in the Clan died from the plague the rat she and Spiderkit caught, she continued into an ever-deepening spiral of guilt and sadness. Nothing seems to be able to cheer her up. Spiderkit was her favorite sibling, she loved Poppyfrost, who always cared for her, and the warriors and apprentices and elders that are also dying were never cruel to her. But she caused their deaths, anyway...
It's hard to tell how long it'll take for Frostkit to recover. Hopefully, since she's only a kit, she will rebound, but it's likely to permanently affect her personality. Frostkit just isn't the type of kit that can easily accept her mistakes, especially when they affect so many.
History: Born to Poppyfrost and Runningfrost, Frostkit was in the middle of the litter. There were some complications in the birth, and, because of this, Fogkit, her sister, was born dead. Frostkit didn’t notice, but as she says that even when she was younger she could sense something ominous, and darkness is what she thinks about when she thinks about birth. Those are her words. As you can see, for a kit, she’s fairly bright with language.
At two moons, she and her favorite brother, Spiderkit, ventured secretly out into ShadowClan territory, sneaking out past the warriors and queens. They were aiming to catch some prey, to prove that they were worthy hunters and skilled already. They wandered into Carrionplace, and, despite the foul stench, were pleased to discover the abundance of prey, and managed to catch one of the large rodents. Spiderkit was bitten by the rat in the process, but it was only a rat bite. They proudly bore their kill--it took both of them to carry!--back to camp.
The rat was determined to be disease-ridden back at camp, when an elder claimed that it smelled strange. This was kept from the kits, however; they'd gone through so much effort to catch it, despite their punishment, that no one had the heart to tell them. Luckily, no one had eaten it, and the Clan came out alright.
Or so everyone thought. But Spiderkit had been bitten by the infected rat, and had not told the medicine cat about it, despite Frostkit's promptings. When one of the warriors that spent a lot of time in the nursery became infected with the plague, it was determined that Spiderkit, too, was diseased, and he was quarantined. After he was taken to the medicine cat den, Frostkit never spoke to him again. He was dead in merely days. Right after that, Poppyfrost, her mother, also fell ill with the plague; she had cleaned the rat's blood from her kits' fur. She, too, was quarantined. Submerged in depression at the loss of her favorite sibling and her mother, Frostkit became a sad, lonely, guilt-ridden thing.
The next half moon of Frostkit's life continued to send Frostkit into and ever-deepening depression, when first the infected warrior died, then more cats that the warrior had also accidentally infected also went to join their starry ancestors. She caused their deaths, Frostkit knew. She'd caught that rat that had infected the Clan. It was all her fault.
Whether the kit will be able to recover from the guilt and sadness of this incident remains to be seen; one thing that is certain, however, is that it will leave a permanent mark on her personality.
Roleplay example: Creeping silently through the darkness of the nursery, cream-colored kit paws carefully avoided stepping on the many kit- and queen-tails and legs crowding the floor. Mustn't wake them, not yet.
Icy blue eyes met their mark and narrowed in concentration and then...the little snowy white kit leapt. The creamy paws met their mark, and one of them clapped over the black kit's mouth before he could let out a yowl of astonishment at the sudden awakening.
"Silence, dear brother," the kit whispered. "You're coming with me!" Her blue eyes twinkled mischievously and she gave the black tom kit a careful but firm push out of the nursery's entrance, right next to the place where he'd chosen as his unfortunate nest the previous night. The convenience of getting another cat out of the den from this position was the only reason the she-kit had targeted him.
"Frostkit," the long-legged black kit complained groggily as from the ground in camp. "Why'd you wake me up?"
"...I wanted to play, Spiderkit!" Frostkit meowed. "What's wrong with a little kit wanting to play in the middle of the night?"
"The fact that its only a little after moonhigh, that's what!" Spiderkit huffed, only to be hit in the head not two heartbeats later by a lobbed mossball.
"Gotcha!" Frostkit purred, letting out a laugh. But Spiderkit laughed too.
"You're gonna get it!" he growled playfully, and threw the mossball back. Frostkit leaped up and caught it with her claws. She found no reason to answer him; why should she if they were playing their game? She chucked the mossball back to him...but the duo had the misfortune of both Spiderkit standing in front of the entrance to the elders den and Frostkit being a bad shot. The mossball soared through the entrance, and she heard the grunt of a newly awoken elder.
"Run!" Frostkit hissed, laughing and frightened at the same time. Spiderkit might be able to hide pretty well in the darkness with his black pelt, but Frostkit stood out like deathberries did on a bush. The two kits scattered as Gorsestorm's head appeared from the entrance, gray eyes narrowed furiously.
"Go back to the nursery, you naughty kits! It’s after moonhigh!"
Stifling laughter, the two kits bolted for the nursery.
"Well, that was fun!" Frostkit meowed as she settled into the nest next to her brother. But she didn't go to sleep. Oh, no. She just waited until Spiderkit was asleep...and then the whole thing started all over again.
