Description:
Sparrowfur is a very beautiful she-cat, though she doesn't believe it. All her life she has never been good enough, so why think her appearance is something special? The first thing noticeable about this she-cat are her eyes. They are a unique shade of green, not dark but not too light either. During the night they glow and make her look like an even more beautiful she-cat.
She's not the biggest cat in the Clan, nor the smallest. Her sister is larger than her, and is considered average sized, making Sparrowfur a little on the small size. Now if one took away her long fur that would probably make her size shrink a little. Underneath all that fur, she is quite muscular, probably more muscle than anything. Her legs are the perfect length for running swiftly and smoothly. While running, it looks almost effortless to this she-cat. Her speed is her best attribute, being long and lean helps.
The she-cat is most obviously a tortoiseshell, easily recognized by her multi-colored fur. The next most obvious feature about Sparrowfur is her long hair. Despite having such long hair, it seems to be kept up well and free of dirt and grime the majority of the time.
Personality:
Sparrowfur is not a needy cat at all, and is quite miss independent. She knows what she wants, and she goes for it. She had to be independent as a kit, her parents hated her, and she grew up not needing help. She does have trouble asking for help, and probably wouldn’t ever ask for it, it’s not her pride in the way, it’s just her. The only cat Sparrowfur might possibly be dependent on is Robinwhisker, her best friend. No one sees the dependent side, except the one she-cat, Robinwhisker helped her through the rough times.
The she-cat is one of those that everything has to be in a specific order. Her tasks have to be broken down to small parts, and that is how she thinks. Sparrowfur likes to make things simple, so it will be much easier in the long run to deal with all of what is happening. But once she sets her mind to something, that is it.
Sparrowfur has temper issues, especially when it comes to mentioning her parents or her sister. She just wishes they could be out of her life, and stop ruining it. They didn’t really notice her too much, and that was fine with her, though it hurt to see her sister getting the attention, Sparrowfur grew slightly cold with the rejection. The streak of cold grew when her old mentor attacked her fiercely as an apprentice, and grew more when he attacked her best friend. She felt nothing when she killed him, but joy. He wouldn’t bother anyone anymore, especially not her Robinwhisker.
Around Robinwhisker she is very kind and caring, wanting to watch out for her best friend. No one comes near Robinwhisker without Sparrowfur by her side. There is nothing wrong with wanting to make sure the one cat you have always trusted is safe, right?
History:
Sparrowfur was born into SkyClan to two warriors, who always seemed to quarrel. Everything Silvernose and Softear ever said to eachother ended in an argument. So when Softear told her mate she wanted kits, Silvernose was completely against the idea. By the time Silvernose was ready to have kits, Softear said she didn't want any. But somehow the queen ended up pregnant, though it was later in their lives.
Softear gave birth to two she-kits, Yarrowkit and Sparrowkit. Neither she-kit looked like the other, and both quickly learned their parents should have never been mates. Their parents were always arguing and the two kits would get caught into the middle of the arguments the majority of the time. Both she-kits learned they needed to be independent and learn how to do things on their own. Obviously their parents wouldn't teach them, or really pay much attention to them. So the two spent their kithood just trying to please both of their parents. It seemed Yarrowkit was better suited to sucking up to their parents and getting their approval. It seemed nothing Sparrowkit did was right. Sparrowkit would play with the other kits in the nursery, trying to befriend someone else, while Yarrowkit was getting their parents approval.
Time passed by and both Sparrowkit and Yarrowkit were made into apprentices. Yarrowpaw was given a mentor that was perfect, one who was best friends with their parents and treated her like her parents did, like she was the most perfect cat in the world. Once again, Fate had given Sparrowpaw the worst mentor possible. Sparrowpaw had been given to Bigfoot, one of the toughest and fiercest cats in the Clan (also known for killing his own kits because they were too weak). Sparrowpaw had no room to be timid, not after she was given this mentor. Just when she thought she was getting a break from the nursery and her parents disapproval, the worst cat possible became her mentor.
Not everything in her life was completely awful, there was one good part that happened shortly after she was apprenticed. Sparrowpaw became best friends with another apprentice, the same age as herself, in almost no time. It was as if the two she-cats were born to be best friends. Robinpaw was there for her when no one else was. Her sister was off being perfect, but it seemed her friend didn't care she wasn't perfect. And their friendship continued on, even in tough times.
Several moons into her training Sparrowpaw was out with her mentor, at another one of his gruesome training sessions. This was the first time the tom would be training her by himself, usually another warrior/apprentice pair was with them, but not on this fine day. The day had started perfectly, her mother coming up to her and telling her that she would never be the kit she wanted. Following her mother's statement she received a visit from her father, saying she was such a disappointment, she wasn't worth being his kit. And to make the day better her sister had been watching the entire time, trying to hold back laughter. The look in her parent's eyes were so cold and full of hatred. She had done nothing wrong, and only did what she was told. How could they be mad at her for doing absolutely nothing? When Bigfoot announced they were to go training alone, Sparrowpaw just followed him robotically. She was already exhausted mentally from her morning. The training session was going well, and Sparrowpaw was learning a lot...that is until Bigfoot when too far. His massive claws became unsheathed and instead of demonstrating on another object, he used Sparrowpaw. Blood gushed from the wounds he opened, and she cried out in pain. She thought she was going to die right then and there. Bigfoot carried her into camp, and said she was attacked by some beast. The last voice she heard before she slipped out of consciousness was her best friends voice full of worry
She woke up about four sunrises later, Robinpaw right beside her. She never knew what it was like to have someone actually want to be near her. Everything seemed intact, her memory was fine, but the wounds she received would take quite a long time to heal. Her parents never visited her, saying she was foolish for letting anything attack her. Robinpaw was the only cat she told the truth to, that Bigfoot attacked her. It wasn't like anyone would believe her anyway. It took almost half a moon for her to recover, and was told she could return to training, but it had to be light. But light to Bigfoot was not what the medicine cat had in mind. Sparrowpaw was pushed to her limits once again, and ended up in the medicine cat's den once again out of exhaustion. Though she was always exhausted she ended up staying on task and was made a warrior at the same time her sister was, and given the name Sparrowfur.
Her friendship with her best friend, Robinwhisker (previously Robinpaw) continued and just after their warrior ceremony they became more than just friends. The two were always together, unless on patrols. But that changed the day Robinwhisker went on patrol with Bigfoot. Sparrowfur knew it wasn't a good idea, she should have known better. But they were split apart on separate patrols, there was nothing she could have done. Bigfoot had struck again, and had hurt HER Robinwhisker. Sparrowfur was furious, and that was the last straw. Robinwhisker would no longer go on a patrol without her. She was sure of that, and that is exactly what became of that little 'event'. Her best friend had been hurt, and she would not allow that anymore.
While Robinwhisker was recovering from the attack, Sparrowfur went to confront her old mentor. He had taught her everything he knew, and she wasn't about to go easy on him. She had only meant to hurt him badly, but she just couldn't stop. The blood pouring out of his pelt was just so relaxing to her. SkyClan would be a better place without him in it. She didn't bother with doing anything with the body. She just left it, not caring what others thought. Some may not like that she had killed another cat, but others would probably be grateful.
Sparrowfur returned to camp, going instantly to Robinwhisker, and letting her know she didn't have to worry about Bigfoot anymore. They were at peace. And so life has continued, and she has found happiness with Robinwhisker, well as happy as a cat with a horrible past can have.
