Description: Sparrowfoot is an average-looking cat, neither pretty nor ugly. She is a slightly larger than usual she-cat, with broader shoulders than the norm. She has long, muscular legs, especially her back ones. She can be found sitting in an alert position most of the time, her tufted ears twitching at any and every noise and long poofy tail wrapped neatly around her front paws. She has a brown-ish pink nose, and her paws are rather large with tough black pads underneath. She has large amber eyes that give off a cool feeling.
Sparrowfoot is a gray/brown tabby. Her soft-looking coat marks her as what she is: a granddaughter of a kittypet. The stripes on her back are much less noticeable than stripes elsewhere - there they all blend in together to form one color, almost, even though many shades of brown, gray, and black make it up, switching gradually between each shade. There are a couple stripes on her back that are black, but not many. She has the usual tabby characteristic of an 'm' on her forehead in black stripes, with a couple more on the sides of her face. On her chest and forelegs her tabby stripes are very noticeable, almost solid black, while the ones on her back legs are more like the fur on her back. Hr tail has very dark rings around it. On her muzzle and chest there is some white mixed in with the tabby coloring.
Personality: Sparrowfoot is a very calm, competitive cat during life, and not much has changed after her death. In fact, she was in a competition when she died. She hates losing and is very determined. She is slightly arrogant, and in life bragged to the other she-cats about her successes like an apprentice does to the other apprentices. She is persistent, and since during her kithood she was very spoiled, she still wasn't used to be told "no", but since has gotten used to it. She used - used - to be rather disrespectful and spoke out whenever she felt like.
Since then, she has learned a little humility. She's still competitive, but has learned not to speak oout whenever she feels wants to, especially around cats older than her. She is a good friend, if you can get past her arrogant attitude, and will loyally defend you. It takes a lot to surprise her, believe me. She is an okay cat overall, just a little rude.
History: Sparrowfoot was born as a single kit as Sparrowkit to two young warriors. Her mother was halfClan because her father was a kittypet, and she was very pretty. She gave her lone little kit anything she asked for, and when she couldn't oblige she got her mate to. 'Mother, can you tell me a story?' 'Of course.' 'Mother, can we go on a walk outside the camp.' 'I'll have your father take you.' Sparrowkit became very used to getting her own way.
This had to change a little bit when it came time for her to be apprenticed. She was apprenticed to an experienced warrior, and, even worse, he was very strict. He made certain she came on every patrol, certain she went hunting for the elders, and even checking up on her multiple times while she cleaned the elders den. Despite being in a foul mood most of the time, Sparrowfoot's training went rather quickly, and she wasn't sorry to see those days go. She and her mentor didn't share the usual bond as mentors and apprentices do; Sparrowpaw suspected it was because she was the granddaughter of a kittypet.
The day she reached thirteen moons, she became a warrior and was rewarded with the name of Sparrowfoot, because she was a quick runner. Her mother was very proud of her, and so was her father. They were among the first to congratulate her. In the beginning of her short warriorship, she tried very hard to please her Clanmates. But after a few moons, this grew boring. She had to be told more than once after that to do anything. And the only time she really wanted to do something was when a competition was brought up.
It just so happened that she was in a hunting competition with her best friend the day she died. Her friend had said, 'Let's see who can bring more prey, me or you!" And Sparrowfoot had agreed enthusiastically. And so they left, Sparrowfoot heading in one direction and her friend the other. SkyClan still lived in the forest with the other Clans then.
She had gathered together a pile of fresh-kill that made her certain she would win: two mice, a squirrel that she'd had to make a massive leap for, and a rather puny vole that she was not too proud of. That was when the fox showed up.
It took Sparrowfoot completely by surprise, scenting her prey and wanting it for its own. It caught her across the side of the head with one paw and sent her sprawling across the ground. Sparrowfoot turned on it to fight, but she'd always been more of a hunter. It left her there covered in scratches and with a deep belly wound. It wasn't long before she joined StarClan.
Her friend went looking for her later, when she hadn't shown up in time for the evening meal, because she was worried about her. She scented the fox long before she found the site of the fox attack. And when she did, it was a horrible sight. The fox was gone, and so was the prey. You could tell from the stench and random clumps of fox fur that Sparrowfoot had put up a fight. But the worst sight was her friend lying motionless and seemingly covered from head to tail in blood, both hers and her attacker's. Filled with grief, her friend returned to camp dragging Sparrowfoot's body. She told all that she had seen, and a patrol went out to make sure the fox was gone. Some cats grieved for her, including her parents and mentor and her friend, of course.
Sparrowfoot felt horrible afterward. after all, if she hadn't been so obsessed with winning, maybe she'd lived longer. But she hadn't died the worst death; after all, she'd been hunting for the Clan. Her family and friends slowly joined her. She watches over her Clan still today (especially during the trip that the cats made to the gorge and those who venture into the forest alone). That's all she can do for them anymore, after all.
