Description: Hawkfoot is a tomcat with a slightly smaller than medium build. Shoulders not too broad, not too skinny. Somewhere right in the middle. His legs are kind of long - longer than the normal cat his size. He has a rounded-triangular-shaped head. His muzzle is a pretty good length and size, with a pinky brown nose sitting on the end of it. He has rounded. ears that are kind of normal, too.
His pelt makes him look handsome. He has short-to-mediumm-length fur. Hawkfoot is a brown tabby. His base coat color is a mixture of color ranging from light brown to medium brown. On top of that, skinny dark brown stripes run all over his body. He has the signature "M" on his forehead that marks him as tabby. Closer to his paws, the stripes thin out. On his muzzle, the bottom half is white. His whiskers are white, as well. Hawkfoot's pelt can get unruly at times - where do you think Elmkit got it? - but he feels confident that with his son around, he can count on it being neat. And who better to mess it up than his other two kits? Big, pretty green eyes finish off his look.
Personality: At first meeting, its rather obvious that Hawkfoot can be rather arrogant. And charming, at the same time. You can tell by his stance - head held high, sitting straight and tall - that he is proud, too. Especially of his kits. His eyes will sometimes gleam with excitement or laughter from some memory. There are many things you can tell about a cat just by looking at them, or talking to them just once. But what about the not-so-obvious things?
Hawkfoot is a kind and gentle tom. He just chooses to cover it up with a sometimes rude, almost cold attitude. He is sympathetic to cats, even when they don't want his sympathy. Quick to apologize when he offends others, he stays on most cats' good side - or at least doesn't get on their bad ones, usually on nuetral grounds. Hawkfoot'll do anything for a Clanmate, bounding headfirst into danger if needed. He is a clever cat, easily outsmarting his slower sister when they were kits, and keeps alert much of the time. He's the type of tom that loves kits and visits his own often, letting his gentle and kind side show. He likes to play with them a lot. The only other cat that's ever really even gotten a glimpse at that gentle part of him is his mate, Ashflower.
History: Hawk-kit's parents, Heatherfeather and Thornfoot, were definitely in love. The two of them had no trouble conceiving kits, either. Very soon, a litter of kits were on their way. THe kits were born as Hawk-kit, a little tomkit, and Bark-kit, a little she-kit. The two of them looked nearly identical, but had two distinctive personalities. Hawk-kit was clever and quick to boast, eager to learn. Bark-kit, though, was slower and quiet, sticking to herself. Hawk-kit was the one that got into the trouble most often.
Once, when he was about four moons old, Hawk-kit went for a liitle "dip" in the river. Coincidentally it was one of those rare days when Bark-kit had agreed to coming exploring with him. She went for help as he barely clung to a branch in the rushing water. He was just slipping when onto the scene came bounding Thornfoot, looking scared. He jumped into the water without thinking and scooped hawk-kit up. Safely on shore again, Thornfoot had to rant on and on about how he was worried about them and that they'd had the whole camp in an uproar lookign for them. Bark-kit blamed herself and she refused to leave camp with her brother again after that.
Soon the apprentice ceremony rolled around, and the two cats were assigned mentors. It was little more than a moon later when Ashpaw joined him. They'd been friends as kits, and now, since their mentors were siblings, they grew even closer, training together and doing their chores together. And so, as he and Barkpaw drifted apart, he and Ashpaw grew closer. She didn't mind his bragging over catches and successes most of the time.
His training progressed quickly, so you may wonder how his slower sister - now Barkflower - and two of Ashpaw's sisters managed to become warriors before him. The answer is simple: Hawkpaw requested that he remain in training until Ashpaw graduated, too. And so he was an apprentice a moon longer than his sister, just so he and his best friend - and maybe more than that - could share a ceremony and vigil together. He recieved the name Hawkfoot, she Ashflower. He enjoyed his silent vigil because he got to share it with one of the cats he loved most.
It was less than a quarter moon later that he realized why he felt so much more enthusiastic around Ashflower. He liked her. More than best friends. And it took him a couple more days to summon up the courage, but he finally admitted it to Ashflower. He was stunned to hear that she felt the same. And so they became mates, and were happy with just the two of them for a while. They spent all of their time together - they'd already pretty much done that, but still.
Then Ashflower suggested - hawkfoot suspected it was partly from her sisters' influence - that they had kits. Eager to go along with anything she said, and actually liking kits himself, he agreed. But Ashflower had a hard time concieving, unlike his mother, and it took a few moons before she moved into the nursery, heavy with kits.
Before the kits were born, though, tragedy struck. Barkflower had moved into the nursery, too, with her own kits. But at their birth, she wasn't in camp. She'd gone on a walk, and suddenly the kits decided to come. She lost too much blood during the birth. Sadly, the kits didn't survive either. Grief-stricken even though he wasn't as close to his sister anymore, Ashflower had to help him through that time.
It was less than a moon later when Ashflower miscarried.
Cue Hawkfoot's help! He helped her through that hard time, jsut as she'd helped him with Barkflower. He'd wanted kits, too, and he was as sad as she to lose that litter.
His parents both caught greencough and passed away before Ashflower was ready for more kits. He was sad then, too, but he was even more distant from them than Barkflower, so it wasn't as bad.
Then Ashflower announced that she was ready for more kits, and, always ready to please her, he agreed enthusiastically. She again moved back into the nursery, and this time she had three healthy kits. They were dubbed Rowankit, Elmkit, and Leopardkit, and they all looked like their father, somehow none of them taking after their beautiful. Now they're nearly apprentices, and he still goes to hang out with them and play. He loves his kits and his mates. And, no matter how cliche it sounds, they're all one big, happy family.
