Name: Gorsestorm
Age: 98 moons
Gender: Tom
Clan: ShadowClan
Rank: Elder
Mate/Crush: His mate, Brindleflower, is in StarClan
Kin: None (his mate died just before his kits were born)
Description: Gorsestorm is a pale ginger tabby. He is almost the same color all over. His stripes are only slightly darker than his main fur color, a light ginger color. He has gray eyes, with a bit of blue mixed in. He wears a calm, indifferent expression most of the time. He has medium-length, thick, soft fur. His pelt is covered in scars from many, many moons of battles.
He is a large tom. He has broad shoulders and muscular legs. He has a short, thick tail, and the ginger color fades to a drity white color by the time it gets to the tip of hsi tail. His ears are small and far apart on his head. His nose and pads are a gray/brown color, and he has short whisker. His sight and hearing are failing him as he grows, but his scenting his getting a little better.
Personality: Gorsestorm has a rather prickly personality to match his name, caused partly by the death of his mate and partly because he's just always been like that. Another reason might be because he's getting old. He is quick to judge and criticize others, although usually he's trying to help, just in his rude way. He's not exactly considerate of others, and like gossiping. He isn't very determined, so if you tell him no, he probably won't insist you say yes. Unless you're supposed to be checking his fur for ticks. He's very picky about certain things. Sarcastic is another word to describe him.
History: Gorsestorm was born with one other kit to two warriors. He and his sister were the exact opposite, both in looks and attitudes. Black-kit, his sister, took more after his mother in attitude and his father in looks, while he took after his father in attitude and his mother in looks. Black-kit balanced out his personality perfectly with her sweet one, and the two formed a tight bond. But it was right before the apprentice ceremony that greencough struck the nursery, making both his sister and his mother ill. The sickness took Black-kit first, and hismother followed soon after.
Both filled with grief, he and his father drifted apart. At his apprentice ceremony, he felt only sadness for being by himself instead of with Black-kit, and it was delayed a quarter moon. But he found consolation in the fact that Black-kit was in StarClan. So he recieved his name, Gorsepaw, and was apprenticed to an older, experienced warrior. He was t be the warrior's last apprentice, and then the warrior was to retire. His training progressed quickly - he particularly excelled in fighting - and it made his father proud of him. They grew a little closer during Gorsepaw's apprenticeship. By the time his warrior ceremony came around, he and his father were spending much of their time together.
He recieved the warrior name Gorsestorm, after his personality and ferociousness in battle. His father praised him, and his mentor retired. He visited him oftne, because he and his mentor had formed a tight bond.
It was a few moons later, when he was 20 moons old, that he got his first apprentice, Dovepaw. He liked Dovepaw's company - she reminded him of his Black-kit. But it was like major deja vu when illness struck the camp again, just before the warrior ceremony, infecting both Gorsestorm's previous mentor and his apprentice. It claimed them both on the same day, Dovepaw only hours before Gorsestorm's mentor.
He was distraught again, and he grieved alongside Dovepaw's sister, Brindlepaw, who was very much like Dovepaw except in pelt color. This was where the two had their first connection, and also where they'd fallen in love. They helped each other recover, and Gorsestorm gave Brindlepaw advice on it, since he'd already gone through something similar. And so Brindlepaw recieved the warrior name Brindleflower. When Brindleflower was 18 moons and Gorsestorm was 32 moons, that they became mates.
With Brindleflower at 20 moons, she announced that she was to have Gorsestorm's kits. The ginger tom was ecstatic, and probably the happiest he'd ever been. His father was excited to be a grandfather, too.
But it was only days before the kits were due that tragedy struck. This time, though, it wasn't caused by illness. Instead, Brindleflower wanted to go on a last walk in the forest before her kits came. Gorsestorm agreed - he never could tell his mate no - and went with her. That was when the fox attacked.
With only one warrior and one heavil-expecting queen, the two were pretty bad off. It wasn't long before the fox managed to get Brindleflower between its strong jaws. He tried to get it to let go, and gave it several scars to remember him by, but it was too late. By the time the fox was gone, Brindleflower was on her way to StarClan, and he, too, had his share of scars.
"Brindleflower, no!" Gorsestorm exclaimed, crouching over his beloved mate.
"Farewell, Gorsestorm. You're kits would have been beautiful." Brindleflower's voice was very faint now. "I love you. I'll see you again someday." And then she was gone.
Gorsestorm took his mate's body back to camp and had to retell the tragedy. He was in the most grief he'd ever been in, worse even than when Black-kit and his mother had joined StarClan, and several times worse than when Dovepaw and his mentor had joined them, too. For a few moons, he shut everyone and everything out.
When he finally started taking an active part in his Clan again, he was a prickly, closed off cat - even worse than before. He was given several more apprentices, but refused to let himself get as attached to them. His father passed away from old age. He was in several fights, significant or not. And then he was becoming an elder. Something Brindleflower would never be. Her life had ended much, much too soon, and following the death of his father, he had no one left he loved.
And so he continues his life, rather boringly. Wake up, complain, eat, gossip, sleep. Wake up, complain, eat, gossip, sleep. A never ending cycle in his boring little loveless life.
Roleplay example: Only SkyClan left to have an elder in...*cackles*
Jeez, there's so much to write about an almost 100-moon-old elder.
