Description:[/u]
Small, thin, light brown fur, yellow-green eyes, scarred
With a single glance at young Thistleheart, you can tell he's not
very ordinary in appearance at all. One guess could be his fur,
which seems to be a light brown, or the other could be his small
size. Yes, those are pretty ordinary for a cat. Nothing too out of
the normal range. Yet, the one thing that does not make him
normal, it must be the scars on his back.
To his build, you can see that he is fairly scrawny, though he
does have a little bit of muscle on his thin bones. His legs are
average of the measurement, though his body is a bit small,
being the same length his legs are. His head is rounded much
like an egg's, with a small point under his chin.
To the different shades of Thistleheart's pelt, there is a mixture
between a dark earthy brown and a thicker shade of tan, coming
to a splash of white around his muzzle and darker brown ear tips.
A medium shade of brown makes up his tabby stripes, and a
mixture of whites and browns in the ruffled neck-fur area in front
of his throat is seen. With a serious as all heck expression in his
bright green-yellow gaze, he can be quite intimidating.
Well, not really.
Extraordinary doesn't really suit Thistleheart well. Yet, if one
turns to his battle scars, be warned. They are all over his body,
though most are on his back. Right on his spine, pretty much. As
an apprentice, he received those deep markings in a mock fight
that turned to be almost deadly. With the result, you have an
almost-dead apprentice. Another small mark is on his cheek, one
that Dawnstorm had left when he confessed his admiration for
her. Turns out she definitely wasn't interested.
Personality:
Naive, serious introvert, tends to be a pushover,
trusting, can be in a heavy depression
Thistleheart tends to have a different look on life, one that could
end his life, or one that could enhance it. Being naive, he does
not seem to really understand the simple things in life. He tends
to work things at a more challenging pace or structure, such as
his hunting techniques and other everyday usage.
Another thing to him is his serious expressions that come out
mostly when he is hiding something. Much like secrets, he cannot
hide them from Flamewing, since he pretty much known him since
birth. He introverts his feelings, not letting them out unless he
knows that it is the right time for them, which it never really is.
One more thing that only a few cats know of, mostly Flamewing
and his siblings, is that he is a complete pushover. He does not
really care about being taken advantage of, but if it's the 'terrible
trio', he will definitely stand up for himself, even with the ginger
tom helping him with that.
A downfall of his is that he can be too trusting to a cat. He
trusted Dawnstorm with his heart, and she fractured it in two,
therefore destroying his spirit. He tends to not trust that many
nowadays, mostly just his brothers and Flamewing is the three
he can go to for comfort. Especially after being hurt once again
by the trio.
Depression hits, and it hurts terribly after a while. Thistleheart's
spirit was crushed by the one he loved, and he occasionally
mopes around the camp, though it isn't very often. He doesn't
want to show any type of weakness to his Clan, or that could be
most death-like. He confesses his problems to Flamewing, even
though he may not care less, but more or less, he does it. Poor
little Thistleheart. Be strong.
History:[/u]
Before
It was love that blossomed between the two young warriors
Riverice and Timberface. They had known each other since they
were measly little kits, and had trained together to become the
warriors they are. Thus, it was no surprise when the she-cat had
announced that she was to have kits, well, their kits. It seemed
to be a coincidence that Riverice's best friend was also having
kits at the same time as her. With this, the two spend their
pregnancy in the Nursery, being as close as two friends were.
Kithood
A cold, brittle leaf-fall was well under way to give in to leaf-bare,
but before that could happen, a kitting had to happen. It was
Riverice's litter being born, with the medicine cat tending to her
and her mate fetching whatever supplies were needed. It was
just after Sunhigh when the trio of toms made their way into the
world. Their pelts were all shades of brown, each with small
tabby marking of their mother. There were three other kits in the
Nursery at that time as well. It was the two-moon old kits,
Nettlekit, Dawnkit, and Larkkit. They took no interest in the new
nestmates, and continued to converse with one another, quietly
at that.
It was close to about eight more nightfalls before Riverice's friend
had her kit, a small, light ginger tom. Yet, the kitting was harsher
than expected, as it took a heavy toll on the queen, ending her
life quickly. The tabby queen took in the ginger tom, since he was
without a mother now, and named him Flamekit for his fire-
shaded fur. Instantly, Thistlekit broke away from his brothers and
curled up next to the new arrival, a small squeak of pleasure
coming from his jaws.
When Thistlekit first opened his eyes, it was dark and shadow-
like. His vision was blurred, and everything was just a rounded,
fuzzy shape. He couldn't see anything past his two brothers'
bodies, except for one thing. The she-cat, Dawnkit, was staring
at him, her gaze sharper than flint. She even had a snarl as her
expression, which scared the heck out of him. He crawled back
next to Flamekit, trying to go back to sleep.
"Everything's so... scary," He had whimpered to his mother
after Sunhigh, with his brothers playing with one another.
"Well, I mean," He lowered his voice to a tiny whisper, only
to be heard by his mother, "mostly just the older kits..." He
was extremely scared of them, no doubt on that, but why did
they have to travel as a /pack/?
At last, Flamekit opened his eyes to what was around him, with
Thistlekit standing right in front of him. Yet, this had slightly
scared the brown kit. With a small shriek, he stumbled backward,
landing in the nest behind him, moss covering him from head to
tail tip. A small kit-like laugh erupted around him, and it sounded
so... feminine-like. He turned over to where Dawnkit sat, but she
wasn't even looking at him. He rose back up to his paws and
stared, bewildered, at the ginger kit. Yet, when he spoke, it
really /was/ feminine to his ears. "Ha ha!~ Like, what are you
so scared about?" The voice rung in his ears, which were hot
with embarrassment by that moment. "S-Scared? I wasn't
scared!" He countered, backing away a few steps, then
pouncing on the ginger tom.
Perhaps the day he saw the older kits become apprentices was
the best day of his life. He was finally free! Yet, as the Clan
cheered on in mock-excitement for the three apprentices, it must
have been Thistlekit that shouted out the she-cat's name the
loudest. "Dawnpaw!~ Dawnpaw!~" He called out, though
the apprentice just glared sharply at him. He stopped shouting
out, heck, he stopped speaking, and backed away toward his mother.
Apprenticeship[/b]
Following the same steps into becoming an apprentice was quite
difficult for the now-named Thistlepaw. His siblings, Elmpaw and
Littlepaw, took no true notice, but he did. Flamekit also became
an apprentice at the same time, which both annoyed and gave
joy to him. He was given the silver tabby tom, Ripplefang, as a
mentor to him. As the Clan cheered on the four new apprentices,
the other three were quiet, not even bothering about the festivities.
It started out smoothly, for that day, he saw a few of the
borders. The Thunderpath mostly, and it reeked of the monster
stink. Just what /was/ that? As he turned in for the night, he
tried picking a nest near Dawnpaw, but her brother, Nettlepaw,
told him it wasn't a good idea. Taking this advice, he turned
toward where Flamepaw was resting. His friend had a worried
expression, which confused him. Then, the ginger tom spoke in a
somewhat serious manner.
"Like, Thistlepaw, I worry about you sometimes. Could you
totally promise me that we will be friends, no matter what?"
The ginger tom's voice rang in his ears, and he was confused
again. Yet, he was honest in his choice of words. "Of course
Flamepaw. That's what best friends are for," He replied, and
with that said, they both drifted off into sleep.

A heat wave was beating down on the growing, ten moon old
apprentices Thistlepaw and Flamepaw. Directly in front of them
were the eldest apprentices, each getting ready for their warrior
assessment. His gaze drifted to Dawnpaw and Larkpaw, for they
seemed to be... serious. Far too serious for his liking. A voice
rang in his ear, telling him to step forward. It was Ripplefang who
told him to do it. Dawnpaw was also called forth, her gaze
seeming to tear at him like claws. He was nervous as all heck,
not sure if this was a mock or real battle.
As the mentors' count of three, Thistlepaw leaped at the older she-
cat's side, placing a firm paw on her flank. She whipped her head
around at him, boxing his ears. That hurt, but at least she wasn't
drawing any blood from them. So it was a mock fight. Perfect.
Catching her off guard, he barreled into her side, sending her off
her paws and onto the ground. He placed a paw on her shoulder
as she used her hind legs to kick at him, though he seemed to be
winning this time. Hehehe...
His victory, however, was short lived, for it was only a matter of
five seconds before he was knocked off his own paws by none
other than Larkpaw. "What are you-" He broke off, a wail of
agony coming from his mouth. The older apprentice was tearing
his claws into his back, just as though he was in battle. A small
cry from Flamepaw erupted as he charged at the larger
apprentice, but he fell backward as he hit Larkpaw. Ripplefang
began to intervene, taking the larger tom off of his apprentice. He
carefully sunk his teeth lightly into Thistlepaw's scruff, then
dragged him back to the camp, sorrow on his face.
When he awoke, he was in the medicine cat's den, his vision
blurred quiet terribly. Yet, he could just make out the scent of his
friend right in front of him, peering down at him. "Like, are you
okay?" A worried tone carried on his words, causing
Thistlepaw to back up a few steps, hitting the wall of the den.
"I'm f-fine. What happened?" He returned in his reply, laying
on the floor again. It was terrible, the pain was beginning to take
a major toll on him.
Turns out that Larkpaw attacked him right after his hollow victory
with Dawnpaw. He must have thought it was a real battle or
something, but because of this, he ended up staying as an
apprentice until he got better, which wasn't for another moon
and a half later on. Yet, when he did get his warrior name, along
with his siblings, they were named Dawnstorm, Nettlefang, and
Larkflight. They had celebrated, for they were finally out of their
den, but they knew it wouldn't be for long.
Warriorhood[/i]
At long last, a few moons after their 'friends' moved out of the
apprentice's den, it was time for them to move out as well. As
the leader announced the ceremony, Elmpaw, Littlepaw,
Flamepaw, and Thistlepaw, still weak from his back aching, all
stepped forward. In turn, they were dubbed as Elmtail,
Littlestep, Flamewing, and lastly, Thistleheart. The cheer from the
Clan was real, unlike for the other newest warriors, and it
actually made him feel happy.
One night, as the moon was shining it's sliver of a claw, he had
asked Dawnstorm to come with him into the pine forest. He
wanted to talk, but he wasn't sure how to place it. Finally, she
asked what he wanted, and he said it. "Dawnstorm... I love
you. Much more than anything this world can give me. I just
cannot li-" He broke off as the she-cat's paw hit his cheek
hard, blowing him off his balance. "Thistleheart, I have eyes for
my brother, and him only," She had turned away, stalking
back into the camp. W-What just happened here? He wondered
about it that night, and he was just plain shocked.
Things change after a while, or so they seem. He became closer
than he had ever realized with Flamewing, and the two shared
practically everything and anything. It would be almost as if they,
themselves, were in some sort of romance. That wouldn't happen
though, would it?
