Shellclaw was not a happy cat. One moment he was spending a lovely day with his sister. And the next, she had vanished. His pelt rippled in disgust. She was probably off searching for Spottedfur. She had such poor taste in toms! That black-and-white foxheart was nowhere near good enough for her. He was arrogant and quiet, and he had already proven himself spineless against Shellclaw himself.
Angrily, Shellclaw had begun to follow Puddlepelt's scent, but he stopped half-way. Why should he help her?! She had ditched him! And if she wanted to go have her heart shattered by that good-for-nothing tom, let her!
He paused and glared down at his reflection. Today, was not a good day. At least it was nice out. The sun was beneath the trees now, a faint glow in the distance. Now that night was setting in, the cyan river was rapidly becoming violet, and soon it would be elegant black. A cool breeze was passing through, caressing Shellclaw's white and gray fur, telling him to relax. The crickets sang tranquility too.
Shellclaw bowed his head. His anger was quickly becoming sadness. All he wanted was his sister to be back, doing warrior duties and scolding him for doing things wrong and being lazy. But she was too busy for him now....There was always Graypaw but soon she'd get him back too, and leave Shellclaw all alone.
