"Good India. There you go, girl."
Kind words accompanied by gentle pets and a treat. India purred and rubbed her head against her twoleg's soft hand. It had been a long day. Her twolegs never stayed up this late, but her owner had had a lot of paperwork, where he scribbled on papers. India supposed he had just given her her check up now as opposed to later. She always got checkups. Any thorns in her feet that she hadn't yanked out were gently removed, her fur brushed, nails clipped and, of course, a treat.
India leapt down from the cold metal table and sauntered across the wooden floor. She pushed open the door, and found herself in the vetrenarian waiting room. If she went through just one more door, she found herself in the kitchen, which had a little side door for her to get inside and outside. It was a big house, full of places to hide and places to explore. Donny, the greyhound, opened an eye, then went back to sleep.
The little, thin wooden door had been installed a week ago, when she was first adopted. If she pushed and went through it, it would swing and reveal the garden to her. To get back in, you basically did the same thing. India leapt outside. The yard was.. Well, huge. It had a sloping hill, and at the bottom of that, there was a nice, peaceful creek with stepping stones that led into the forest. On either side of teh nest were other twoleg shelters, and gardens, too. Indialeapt up a tree, and climbed out onto the farthest reaching branch. She clawed at a window in the twoleg nest, until she woke up the little girl. The girl casually flipped open the screen to allow Sunday to get out, too. Then she went back to bed.
"India!!" Sunday cried happily, leaping onto the branch. Her paws slipped dangerously, but in a minute, India was there, carefully holding her scruff.
"Careful, or you'll fall," India warned, steadying Sunday. "C'mon, we got a lot of exploring to do!"
The cats had only recently been adopted, and still didn't know their surroundings well. Sunday knew that in a brick house two nests down, there was a nice family who often petted them. There were a few kittypets around here, too; A bald one, a spotted, foreign looking one, two twins, a dark tan shaded one as well as a blue grey one who had a Spanish accent.
They had never spoken to these cats, but often observed them from the safety of their tree. Tonight, they hoped to take it a step further: Socialization.
