It lives! Cai and Yellow will know this RP from a previous site that I helped to run. It's still a warriors RP, but I thought I'd put it here anyway and see if anyone wanted to play with it. ;3
The Legend of the Clans[/b]
Many moons ago there were four Clans. They were called StormClan, TreeClan, GustClan, and StoneClan, and they lived together in relative peace. TreeClan lived in the thick forest, surviving on the plentiful prey among the trees and plants of their territory. GustClan lived on the open plains, hunting under the open sky and running swiftly after their prey. StoneClan lived in a chain of rocky hills, leaping easily from rock to rock and learning to blend in to their hard home. And StormClan lived in a scrubby territory next to a streaming river, learning to swim in the fierce current and hunt in the varied scrublands.
But StarClan prophesized dire times to come, and soon Twolegs began tearing up GustClan’s territory. The Clan fled, starving, and wasn’t seen again. Several moons passed, and the Twolegs continued to expand outward. They came increasingly close to the three Clans’ territories, and the Clans knew they had to act. They sent out a party of scouts to find them a new home, telling them to return before a moon had passed.
The group of cats traveled for many days, and eventually came to a broad, warm expanse of water that rose and fell each day, revealing a slim pathway of sand when the water was lowest. The cats followed it, and found a large, prey-rich island at its end. The island was easily large enough for all three Clans to live on, even when they had been at their full strength. It was covered in thick, lush forest, and a large mountain rose in the island’s center. Small, clear streams ran all throughout the island, and wide, sandy beaches surrounded the lower half. These beaches were littered with tide pools and rocky outcrops, which were refilled with prey-rich water every day.
The cats returned almost a moon later, and the Clans began the journey to their new home with trepidation. But eventually they reached it, and they saw that it was everything the scouts had said it would be. Pleased with their new home, the Clans settled in and chose territories, with TreeClan living in the thickest part of the forest, StoneClan claiming the mountain and some sparse forest surrounding it, and StormClan moving into the beaches and stream-filled forests. They lived there for many seasons, and all three Clans grew strong once more.
But StarClan sent terrible omens of dangerous things to come. The water around the island slowly started to climb, covering the path to land in the process. At the next gathering, StormClan urged the other Clans to leave the island before it was too late. But the other Clans didn’t listen. They didn’t believe the water would rise much higher, and they were unwilling to risk the swim back to the mainland.
Still StarClan prophesized danger to come, and StormClan heeded their warning. The Clan gathered at low tide and crossed back to the mainland. Now without a home, the cats that had made it across journeyed into unknown lands to find a new home. But the journey was hard, and by the time they came to a baking desert, the once mighty StormClan was only eleven cats strong. They were saved by a lush oasis that arose from the center of the desert, and the small group of cats collapsed there to regain their strength.
But another Clan had also found the warm stand of trees. GustClan, weakened and few from their long journey across countless lands, had found the oasis first. There were only twelve of them left, however, and the exhausted Clans could not rouse themselves to fight. Instead they both rested under the sheltering palms, and they grew to know each other. GustClan had become closer and more caring during their journey, becoming the most loyal and courageous Clan they could. And StormClan had learned from their past experiences, learning cunning and faith.
So the two Clans joined, strengthening their numbers once more and learning to survive in the burning desert. The swift, lean cats of GustClan and the strong agile cats of StormClan joined together, and began to learn how to survive in the shifting desert around them. They called themselves RippleClan, after the gentle waters of the oasis and the cruel heat of the desert sun. Determined and united, all that was left for the Clan to do was explore and grow...
One Moon Later...[/b]
RippleClan has lived in the desert for almost a moon now, and have found a place to make their camp. They gathered under the full moon to reflect on their journey and speak beneath Silverpelt, and the only thing they haven't done is found a place to speak with StarClan. But a strange, tropical disease has appeared in the Clan, one that is as deadly as greencough, and seemingly strikes at random. It struck a devastating blow to the newly-formed Clan, killing both of the medicine cats and deputies, and claiming the last life of StormClan's leader, as well as killing two other cats from GustClan and one from StormClan. GustClan's leader lost her last life to a poisonous snake less than a day after StormClan's leader fell, and now RippleClan is in disarray. They have no leaders, no deputies, no medicine cats, and no way of speaking to StarClan. RippleClan is on its own, and unless it can rally soon, the threat that looms unseen on the horizon may wipe them all out forever...
Welcome to RippleClan[/b]
StormClan cats are cunning and adaptable, with strong, tireless limbs and thick waterproof pelts. They will have to shed their heavy furs to thrive in the baking desert, but these survivors will do whatever it takes to live on. They have keen eyesight that helps to cut through the glare of the desert sun, and their faith in StarClan is strong.
GustClan cats are loyal and courageous, with long, swift legs and short light pelts. They are well adapted to living out in the open sun, and their long legs help them to cross the uneven sands of their territory. Life for these cats is a life of trust and loyalty, and these cats will do anything to protect each other. Their noses and ears are sharp so they can smell prey before it sees them, and but they will need to learn endurance to survive the cruelties of their territory.
The RippleClan camp is located in a tumble of rocks, and there is no wall or camp entrance. The camp looks abandoned, and most go right past without even noticing that cats are present. All the dens in this camp are made inside rocks, and have low entrances that are hard to notice. The Clan leader calls meetings from on top of the leader's den. When night approaches, or if an intruder is near, the cats retreat into their dens and scrape sand from inside to mound it at the entrance, sealing it completely. These dens are completely hidden, though not airtight, as cracks in the rock let in small amounts of air and light. The medicine den especially has lots of cracks and crevices where herbs can be stored, and the dry darkness inside the den is excellent for preserving the few herbs the Clan cats get from the oasis.
[RippleClan territory] is a large, hot desert. Its vast sandy stretches of ground littered with tumbles of rock are reminiscent of the beaches that StormClan lived on, but there are no salty tide pools or swift-running streams here. The only drinkable water is in the oasis in the center of the territory, which is a large round pool surrounded by lush trees and plants. The oasis is the most well known place in the territory, which is still being explored by the new-formed Clan. It is where they do most of their hunting, but the cats are slowly becoming used to hunting animals on the searing desert sands. Though they have no other Clans to meet with, RippleClan has decided to gather every full moon to discuss recent events under the light of StarClan. They hold their gatherings on a large tumble of flat stones, which are raised above the desert sands and are extensive enough for the whole Clan to fit easily on.
