Of course he had wondered why, but it was against his nature to question such things. "I knew there was a reasonable explanation so I didn't think to ask." he said seriously. There was a hint of embarrassment in his voice though. Foxfur listened as Snaketail began to explain what had happened. He was a bit irritated when Twistedclaw interrupted, he wanted to know what happened.

Foxfur momentarily wondered how different it could be whether one cat or the other explained. He was drawn from this thought as Snaketail once again began to explain what had happened. The story seemed almost to odd to have actually happened. He looked to Twistedclaw and asked "Did you really do that? I would have been pretty scared to fight a fox head on by myself!" Of course, The fox probably would have mistaken him to be a fox himself!

The fact that a fox had come to ShadowClan territory made Foxfur wonder if the other clans had any problems, Namely WindClan. He once again worried about his kits safety. Sure, he trusted Rivermist to take good care of them but he was missing out on so much. Foxfur's tail drooped slightly at this thought.

Twistedclaw gave a slight snort of amusement. "You'd be afraid of something as mousebrained as a fox?"

Pathetic, Twistedclaw thought. And for a moment, Twistedclaw wondered why Snaketail had bothered speaking to him. This cat had taken the warrior code and chopped it into pieces, and he wasn't even a brave cat on top of that.

But Snaketail wasn't done with the story.

"So, anyway. Brindlepelt's injured, and I carry her back to camp and into the medicine cat's den. She's bleeding all over the place and Specklestar walks in. She tells us that Littlebird isn't in camp because she went to Moonstone on emergency. Well none of us know what to do. So Specklestar tells us that some cats have to be sent to bring the Thunderclan Medicine Cat here."

"I still think that was mousebrained to do," Twistedclaw muttered.

Snaketail glanced at Specklestar's back, she was pretty far ahead. He nods to Twistedclaw. "But that's not even the end of," Snaketail goes on. "Oakstorm and Shrewfang were the ones set and they came back with a whole patrol of cats! Including, the Thunderclan Deputy, the Medicine Cat, The Medicine cat's apprentice, and a warrior! It's ridiculous how distrustful they were." Snaketail finished in a scathing tone. "As if we'd harm a medicine cat!"

Foxfur was offended by Twistedclaw's comment, but not so much. He was used to cats being rude to him "Just because something is mousebrained doesn't mean it can't kill you" he said simply. He turned back to look at Snaketail as he began to explain once more.

It was understandable that ThunderClan should be wary but the deputy and a warrior did seem a bit much. It was an unfortunate situation, to have to call on help from ThunderClan, but Foxfur would have probably immediately sent for help pride or not. If Brindlepelt died it would be hard on the Clan. "It seems that we've been pretty unlucky." he commented once Snaketail ended "
