A low purr escaped from Streamkit's chest at her sister's congratulations. Shadowkit liked her rock! It was her first accomplishment as a RiverClanner, and she was glad that her sister was happy too. Prodding the small stone a bit with her paw, Streamkit admired it just a little more, pleased by the praise. Her paw faltered a bit at the mention of Swiftkit though, pausing over the greenish pebble as she raised her eyes to look at her sister. "It's okay," she whispered. "We'll see him again at gatherings. We'll all be together again, you'll see."
A voice from beside her drew Streamkit's attention away from her sister, to the nearby form of Skunk-kit. She pricked her ears curiously, awaiting his verdict as he examined her stone, and then mewled with glee. She had won! Her first time playing a RiverClan game, and she won! And, and she got rocks? Streamkit accepted them graciously, although she didn't really know why the RiverClan kits would want to keep the little pebbles. They were just rocks, playthings, right? Even a good mossball was discarded once the game was over.
"Thanks, Sunk-kit," Streamkit mewed happily. She would have said something else, but she stopped and watched with sudden wariness when Hollykit hissed and jabbed Skunk-kit angrily with her paw. She hadn't noticed the ginger kit's looks at her sister, but she wasn't a mousebrain. As the Skunk-kit grumbled and got up and the two kits moved away, Streamkit got the distinct impression that at least one of their new den-mates did not like them. Well, there was bound to be someone. She tried to push the unpleasant thought out of her mind, and focused on Rabbitkit's congratulations instead.
"Ah, thanks Rabbitkit. Um, if you don't mind me asking, though..." She paused, wondering if he would think her question strange. But then she decided to forge ahead anyway. "Um, am I supposed to do something with these pebbles? We're done playing with them, right? Why would I want to keep them?" Staring curiously at the other kit, she hoped she hadn't committed some kind of RiverClan taboo. What if they really liked their rocks??
