((OOC: Don't forget to glance at the Clan Duties board guys. ^.^ See what your kitties have planned.))
Eclipsepaw watched Specklestar's patrol leave. She honestly did not care for those kits they were bringing back, but she wished she could go just to snarl at those WindClan cats that had argued to keep them from her Clan. She was distracted from this train of thought by seeing Honeypaw and Heronstripe together. She could not hear what they were saying, but the very sight of them standing so near, while Honeypaw made no attempt to approach her blood kin, sickened her to stomach...and heart.
A silent rage coiled within her, like an adder ready to spring. Acornsquash was a better sibling to me than you are, Honeypaw! she thought venomously. Her brother had made no attempt to love, or spend time with her, he had frightened Eclipsepaw out of her wits, he had murdered her family, but none of that seemed so cruel as Honeypaw's betrayal. Amongst the rage a flash of guilt shallowly passed, like a glancing cut that would not even bleed. You took her for granted. She thought back to her fury when Honeypaw left camp without telling any cat and returned with Heronstripe. Had she not yelled then, maybe Honeypaw would have learned to hate the tom all on her own.
The guilt passed, and the rage remained and burned. She whipped around and padded just outside the camp, circling around the back and finding a tree. Unsheathing her claws, she rose onto her hind paws. With all her fury she raked the tree's side until the bark peeled like skin and fur. The sight of pale wood underneath was red in her mind, and she repeated the task over and over, not putting her thoughts into words and feeling the rage ease with the sting of her claws dragging over the defenseless tree.
