((Say no more. Anything to save you from Spore's jaws... ;D))
As Rivermist pulled him and Sandkit out of the elders' den, Swiftkit felt the unease and fear growing inside him. The game was over now. Without a word, he reluctantly allowed himself to be ushered out into the camp with his sister, throwing scared looks over his shoulder to the elders. Somehow he felt like there was a storm coming.
"Bye..." He whispered to the elders, wondering whether the word held more meaning than just 'I'll see you later' this time. And then his worst fears were coming to life as he heard his mother speak again. She didn't talk in her normal kind voice. There was no reassurance or comfort in her words. She sounded cold and aloof, and Swiftkit was scared. He might have been mad at her, but at the moment all he wanted to do was hide his face in her pelt and avoid the stares of the strange-smelling cats in their camp. And then the dam broke; his fear made him angry.
"What? Specklestar's waiting for what?" Swiftkit all but yelled at his mother, turning his fearful and blazing gaze onto her. She couldn't be serious. She couldn't. They couldn't be sending him and Sandkit to ShadowClan, of all places. That would be the worst of all! He'd have to live with his... No. He would not. "I'm not going to ShadowClan" he yelped in a high-pitched voice. He recoiled a few steps, staring wildly at all the staring cats. He felt the cold grip of betrayal begin to grasp him.
Skytail sat with her head slightly bowed, a solemn eye fixed on the scene before her. She felt pity for Rivermist - which cat wouldn't? - but she knew this was for the sake of freedom and balance in the forest. How could they allow ShadowClan to grow with four of their own? It had to be done, whether this was a crime against a mother or not. Although she understood Ravenstar's actions, she could not help but feel a stir of pain for the two kits, bewildered and desperate as they were thrust from the paws of one Clan to the paw of a stranger. One parent to another.
